Fab Freebie: City Love

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

This week’s TWO lucky winners are… Maria G (who loves Kansas City despite being under 12-15″ of snow at the moment) and Fiona (who loves her hometown of Washington DC so much she even loves the traffic). Congrats you two!

Today marks the seven year anniversary of our move to Richmond, VA. Woo hoo! It’s crazy to think that it has been that long, and to celebrate this week’s giveaway is from a city-minded artist: Kimberly of Albie Designs. We’ve had her charming illustration of New York City hanging in our hallway o’ frames for as long as there has been a frame collection there (my sister bought it for Sherry for her birthday a few years back). And now Kimberly has released a Richmond city print. So whether you want her new RVA work of art, or others from around the country (and even the globe) you’ll get your pick thanks to the $100 gift card that she’s offering up to two lucky winners.

Albie Designs Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card to Albie Designs on Etsy
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I LOVE [INSERT CITY NAME HERE]” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why you love it so much. Is it a city you’re just thrilled to live in? Is a place that always makes you happy to visit? Or maybe it’s a city that you’ve never been to, but fantasize about visiting?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Huzzah! This giveaway is available worldwide.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Albie Designs.

I LOVE London! I lived there for 3 months one summer and have visited often. I am not sure why, especially since I get SAD in the winter, but it really is my home. Alas, I am firmly US based, and love much of the US, but truly would LOVE to live in London again.

It’s where I found out I was pregnant and we already plan on buying the Richmond print from this collection (and probably one other) for our nursery! It would be awesome to win it!

I love the combo (or Twin if you will) cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. They are both such great cities, MPLS being a little hipper, STP being a little classier =)

    I LOVE SEATTLE!

We have all four seasons, but they’re nice and mild. The air always smells clean. We have never-ending delicious restaurant options and lots of parks that are green all year long. We have mountains AND water. And lastly, Seattleites (and I) love dogs.

I love Washington DC! I’ve lived and worked within 30 miles of here for most of my life, and for the capital of the country it’s such an accessible city. I love that building restrictions keep downtown from turning into skyscraper alley, and that you can walk down the Mall from museum to museum, past the Tidal Basin and on to the monuments. You can bike all over the city and zip from Foggy Bottom to Adams Morgan on the metro! So much important work is done here, from government, to associations, organizations, cultural events, and rallies for causes people believe in. It’s an inspiring place to live and work, if for nothing more than the fact that you’re constantly surrounded by so many other people who are passionate about what they’re doing here as well. I love it!

I am originally from the Northwest (Portland, Or). My husband is a HUGE Chicago Cubs fan. So when we got married 3 years ago I surprised him by taking us to Chicago for the second half of our honeymoon. I fell in love with Chicago that summer. Such a beautiful city, with so many nice people, great food and history. Go Cubs!

    I LOVE CHICAGO!

I live in the suburbs, about 15 miles out from downtown, but I still feel like a Chicagoan! Not too small, but not too big, plenty to do in any season (although summer is the ideal time to visit), full of history, and GREAT sports teams (GO BLACKHAWKS – UNDEFEATED! WHOOO!). I would TOTALLY grab the Chicago print if I won this giveaway!

I went to university there, met my man there and have spent many happy times in the city. I will also be volunteering at the Glasgow 2014 commonwealth games so i’m already excited about the buzz that will be in the city next year.

However, in June I will be visiting New York for the first time so my answer may change later in the year! Any tips on the best things to see and do in NYC would be awesome?!

I grew up in Southwest, Lower Michigan, right on Lake Michigan and on a clear day, looking across the lake, you can see the Chicago skyline. On my 8th birthday, my grandma took me on my first trip to Chicago on the train. Chicago is a great city!
