Fab Freebie: City Love

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

This week’s TWO lucky winners are… Maria G (who loves Kansas City despite being under 12-15″ of snow at the moment) and Fiona (who loves her hometown of Washington DC so much she even loves the traffic). Congrats you two!

Today marks the seven year anniversary of our move to Richmond, VA. Woo hoo! It’s crazy to think that it has been that long, and to celebrate this week’s giveaway is from a city-minded artist: Kimberly of Albie Designs. We’ve had her charming illustration of New York City hanging in our hallway o’ frames for as long as there has been a frame collection there (my sister bought it for Sherry for her birthday a few years back). And now Kimberly has released a Richmond city print. So whether you want her new RVA work of art, or others from around the country (and even the globe) you’ll get your pick thanks to the $100 gift card that she’s offering up to two lucky winners.

Albie Designs Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card to Albie Designs on Etsy
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I LOVE [INSERT CITY NAME HERE]” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why you love it so much. Is it a city you’re just thrilled to live in? Is a place that always makes you happy to visit? Or maybe it’s a city that you’ve never been to, but fantasize about visiting?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Huzzah! This giveaway is available worldwide.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Albie Designs.

“I LOVE Chicago!” I currently live just outside and work in NYC, but Chicago is my hometown. I still have family there and love to visit. While NY has its own appeal, it just doesn’t have the charm of Chicago. I miss it.

I lived there for about six months during a temporary job assignment ten years ago and have been trying to get back there permanently since! I love the energy the city has…no other place like it in the world!

I LOVE ST. LOUIS! We’re Nebraskans by birth (and will always love the Good Life!), but we moved to STL after spending three years overseas because we love the city, it had a lot of good grad school options, and a lot of our friends moved here.

We love this place. We can’t wait to raise a family here. Like any city, it has its issues, but we truly adore it.

I LOVE EVERY BIG CITY I’VE VISITED … SO FAR! :)

After growing up in a relatively small town (and living in that same town again now), I fell in love with Richmond, VA when I lived there during college. I just love the big city feel. I have enjoyed New Orleans, DC, and Chicago the most since Richmond. I just love that there is always something going on and the diversity in people.

    I LOVE TORONTO!

I was born in Edmonton but moved to Toronto at a young age and definitely consider myself a Torontonian. Toronto is the most multicultural city in the world, more languages are spoken on a daily basis here than anywhere else and that gives us a very unique personality. I love my city for teaching me about the world and helping me find my place in it. My city found also helped me find my man and my dog without whom, my life just wouldn’t me the same.

I LOVE PHILADELPHIA! I am one of those people with total and unabashed love for my gritty little city despite all the naysayers (and even my own naysaying). It’s historic! It’s walkable! You can walk down the same streets that built our nation! You can take those same streets to some of the country’s best restaurants! Wander through the various neighborhoods and feel like you’re somewhere else! Best of all, Philly is home to the first home I’ve owned, some of the best friends I’ve ever made, and is the place where I met my true love! We are so excited for out futures together in Philadelphia!

(That said, we LOVE to travel and I’ve already eyed some other-city prints for our mega wall of adventure, which is already crowded with *multiple* historic and modern maps and prints of Philly)
