Fab Freebie: City Love

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

This week’s TWO lucky winners are… Maria G (who loves Kansas City despite being under 12-15″ of snow at the moment) and Fiona (who loves her hometown of Washington DC so much she even loves the traffic). Congrats you two!

Today marks the seven year anniversary of our move to Richmond, VA. Woo hoo! It’s crazy to think that it has been that long, and to celebrate this week’s giveaway is from a city-minded artist: Kimberly of Albie Designs. We’ve had her charming illustration of New York City hanging in our hallway o’ frames for as long as there has been a frame collection there (my sister bought it for Sherry for her birthday a few years back). And now Kimberly has released a Richmond city print. So whether you want her new RVA work of art, or others from around the country (and even the globe) you’ll get your pick thanks to the $100 gift card that she’s offering up to two lucky winners.

Albie Designs Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card to Albie Designs on Etsy
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I LOVE [INSERT CITY NAME HERE]” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why you love it so much. Is it a city you’re just thrilled to live in? Is a place that always makes you happy to visit? Or maybe it’s a city that you’ve never been to, but fantasize about visiting?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Huzzah! This giveaway is available worldwide.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Albie Designs.

    I LOVE SEATTLE!

Seattle is my favorite city, I have visited it once and stayed with friends, but I want to go there more often, or else just move there. Because I love it so.

    I love Stuttgart, Germany!
It’s where my husband and I met. We’re currently living in Texas, and expecting our first child, a little girl. We’d love to take her there some day and show her where our love story began :)

I love Minneapolis (the Twin Cities really!). I’m bummed you didn’t get to spend more time in our Midwestern lovely land of lakes and bikes (we go back and forth with Portland for the most bike lanes in a city!) and music. Come back and visit!

    I love Richmond!

I currently live there, but i think why I love that picture so much is because that point of view is from Belle Isle. My best memories are from that island- just sunbathing on the rocks and having a luxurious-feeling vacation only 15 minutes away from my little house in the fan. i’ll be sad when i graduate this year and won’t have that happy place to come back to anymore.

This is my first comment, but I think it’s worth coming out of my comment-shell for that print :)

I LOVE SAN FRANCISCO! What’s not to love? It’s the most beautiful and romantic city on Earth. The bridges, the victorians, the fog, the open space, the broad views across the bay and the Pacific ocean… I could go on and on!

    I LOVE CHICAGO!

My husband and I went there before we got married a few years ago and had such a good. We went during the month of June which is the best time to visit. The weather was amazing and we were able to enjoy the city to the fullest. To this day, it is still one of our favorite vacation.

I love Portland! It’s my husband’s hometown, and though I’ve never lived there, I can never get enough when we visit. It’s a big enough city that there’s plenty to see and do, but not so busy and crowded as to overwhelm this small town girl.

I LOVE TORONTO! I lived there for six years while in school but was ready to leave when I was done university. Now that I am a little (okay, ten years) older, I’ve realized all the other things the city had to offer that I didn’t take advantage of. I would move back in a heartbeat, if I could take my house with me :)

I LOVE PHILLY! It has all the perks of living in a city – great restaurants, bars, music, art, history – and it’s very livable – relatively low cost of living, walk-able downtown. It gets a bad rap, but everyone I know who comes to visit ends up loving it!

For too many reasons, and if you were ever there, you’ll know why. Gaudi’s remarkable creations (OMG, La Sagrada Familia!), spanish food, La Rambla… and the list goes on! We spent a long weekend there and need to come back once the kids are older and can stay up late — as Spanish dinner only starts at 10pm! :)
