Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    I looooooove white Christmas lights. No colors! Just plain, traditional white lights. And none of that fancy icicle stuff either. I’m a purist. :)

    I’m really enjoying the simple snowflake lights I hung up above my front door. I can see them through the window in the door and they make me smile.

    lamp me! my favorite christmas lights are the white ones that are hung on my tree, especially when they shine off a glass ornament

    I’m a white light kinda girl myself. However my grandmother has some of the cool old style bubble lights that I love too!

    LAMP ME! I like the warm light of old-fashioned white lights (no LEDs for me–they look cold) indoors, and multicolored lights outdoors.

    I am obsessed with lighting up the Christmas tree at night. Feels so cozy and nice, especially with snow falling outside!

    I love lighting our tree with both white and colored lights. It looks amazing! And, in general, I love the look of candles in windows.

    I love the look of white lights. So classic and pretty. We don’t try to create a look with our ornaments. We’re more into the memories behind them so the white creates a nice clean back drop for them to steal the show!

    LAMP ME! I love the people who go all out with the gazzilion xmas lights, snowman, santas galore cuz I don’t have the guts or time to do it myself. But I love to drive past those houses with my kids!

    I just love the white lights on our Christmas tree and I love them more because this is the first year that I can see the Christmas tree from our house headquarters (the kitchen).

    LAMP ME! I love the Christmas lights I grew up with — the fat, incandescent, multi-colored kind where you actually screw in each bulb on the strand. They’re harder to find now, but we have a few.
