As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! I love decorating the Christmas table with lots of candles. I have many many candlesticks and candelabras to chose from, and I try to do a slightly off the wall arrangement with them. This year I am excited to include some battery operated mini lights into the display.
I love the soft light that candles cast on people’s faces, as we share in the wonderful food cooked by my husband. This along with good wine, lots of laughter and great conversation among those who love and care for one another, is what makes Christmas great.

LamP mE! I love houses all decked out in glittery glory at Christmas… the tree, the indoor decorations and the outside lights and decorations. Our house really needs some color, I’m dying to get some pops of turquoise/aqua and limey green goodness in our house. Doing it with lights seems like a great way to start!

I lurve the glow of soft white Christmas lights…on the tree, on the house, wherever but my hubby prefers colored lights. Its his year for the colored lights so I have white ones elsewhere. I love the look in our den with just the Christmas tree; it’s so pretty!

But seriously.
My favorite holiday lights are the old vintage bubble ones. That had the liquid in them and they would boil when they got warm, causing them to be a huge fire hazard to your toxic plastic fake tree. But they were mesmerizing and I always loved colored lights over white. But for years, I went with the white lights trend, and while it is pretty, I’ve gravitated back towards colored lights. There’s something magical about them as a child. I love real trees too, but one day, I’ll be donning a white tree with serious sparkle. I guess you could say I “go both ways.” You know…ambidextrous. ;o)
