As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

I work nights, so when I come home in the morning, the house is full of sunlight. But in the evenings before I leave, I turn off all of the lights except the Christmas tree, so it glows through the living room. I imagine someone is there to snuggle in the warm glow all night while I’m away at work. I like that my house is cozy even when I’m not in it. :)

I just had to sell almost all of my furniture in order to pay for my tuition for my lat semester in college! All I have left is my bed, and a desk- a great lamp would be a great addition to my desk! ( you know- all that hard studying!!)
My favorite Holiday lighting is when people have colored christmas lights outside- and then snow falls on top of it. It makes the snow look like it’s glowing- completely gorgeous!!

My favorite Holiday Lights are the glimpse of Christmas Trees decked out in colorful lights you can see while driving by someone’s picture window. Such a beautiful thing that brightens up my night. :)

My mom has this old teddy bear hold a christmas tree that lights up. It was from my Grandma that passed when I was 3 but I love seeing it and imagining her and what she would be like if I knew her!
