Fab Freebie: Be Jeweled

***This giveaway has reached is now closed – see who won below!***

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And an especially happy one to our randomly selected, lucky winner who goes by the name of… Oona (who will likely celebrate tonight with dinner at “a lovely vegan restaurant”). Congrats Oona!

We love celebrating Valentine’s Day with you guys by giving away some free jewelry, and this year Sherry’s especially stoked because the prize is coming from none other than Kendra Scott – one of her favorite places to request that I buy her earrings for various occasions (like the past two Christmases). Kendra Scott has definitely earned me a few husband points, so this (are you ready for it?) $500 gift card means that someone else out there can score major points from the one they love – or one lucky winner can grab her own jewels for herself. And probably have money leftover to share the wealth with a few friends or relatives. Oh and if you fancy yourself a Kendra Scott in the making, you can even use their Color Bar to customize several of their pieces. So yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Kendra Scott Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Kendra Scott
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “JEWEL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …how you plan to celebrate (or not celebrate) Valentine’s Day this year. Is there a special date night in your future? Are you sending your kids off with backpacks filled with cards for classmates? Or are you just gonna treat it like any other Thursday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway ships worldwide. Woot!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

My husband just entered inpatient treatment for a doctor induced narcotic addiction, so I cannot speak to him or see him. I will have flowers sent to him, but I will just pretend that it is any other day.

My fiancé and I are still in college, so unfortunately Thursday will consist of a huge exam for me after work and a paper-writing marathon for him. Luckily we find little ways to acknowledge how much we appreciate each other throughout most regular days, so this one won’t be lost :)

Jewel Me!!! This Valentine’s Day I’ll be spending the day with my 26 2nd graders celebrating a day of friendship! We will be spending the day reading stories of friendship, writing friendship poems, making cards for one another and spending quality time together without the normal pressure of our fast paced curriculum. At the end of the day, we have parents coming to celebrate along side us. I’ve asked each parent to write their child a letter focusing on the reasons they love him or her to add to the fun and love centered activities for the day. this day never eases to be an amazing day with my little ones! After school my husband and I will celebrate a quiet night at home. We usually cook dinner together and spend quality time at home, especially on a school night! :)

We’re celebrating Friday instead and going to pick out our favourite things for dinner at a fancy grocery store in our neighbourhood that we really like but don’t shop at regularly. I also got my hubby a little gift :).

Spending V-day the only way a parent can: out to dinner the night before so you can get a sitter and avoid the crowds. Then heart-shaped pizza with the kiddies on the 14th!

My boyfriend and I will be headed to a ski area (Crystal Mountain, for those familiar with the Seattle area) for a day on the slopes. My parents started the tradition of going skiing every V-Day when they were dating and have gone every year since. My boyfriend and I met skiing 5 years ago and we decided that it was only fitting that we carry on my parents tradition!

Our Valentines Day “gifts” typically consist of doing things for each other that we typically avoid for selfish reasons. For example, I am planning on doing some yard work and picking up after the dogs (my typical reason to avoid: he is so good at it!). I’m also going to bake him a banana cream pie – his fav / my not so fav. It’s the little things in life :)

This year I’ll be attempting to cook dinner! He usually does all of the cooking (that makes two of us who are soo lucky we don’t have to wander our way through the land of measuring and mincing), so I thought it’d be fun and thoughtful to return the favor. Also makes two of us who love Kendra.

Dinner in with the family. Hubs and I will likely exchange M&M bags (plain and peanut) and cards and our daughter will be getting a cool toy that we’re both excited to give her. We’re obviously not big Valentine’s Day people but we want to make it special for her.
