Honestly? We have friends coming to stay with us this weekend, and the carpets in our apartment are a mess, and the 14th is the only evening we both have free so we’ll be spending valentine’s day steam cleaning. Maybe we’ll try and fit in some wine and chocolate in there somehow =).

Jewel me! Please!!! Boyfriend just made reservations at Rosebud restaurant in Chicago. While attending college I lived one block away from the restaurant, but impossible for me to dine there on a student budget… so I am pretty excited! I am also making cards for my friends and passing out flowers to a few ladies at work :)

My husband and I started a tradition many years ago that stemmed from coming home on Valentine’s Day after a very very very bad day. I was in no shape for fine dining or getting dressed up, so my husband went to the grocery store and purchased all of the things to make my favorite meal (and for his as well). So we stayed home and had a spectacular gourmet (albeit homemade) meal. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to continue, and have been staying in on Valentine’s Day ever since. We are now joined each year by our 2 1/2 year old, which actually makes the meal a lot more entertaining.

JEWEL ME! The kids are headed to school with ring pop valentines. The valentines these days are MUCH cooler than when we were kids.
As for what we are planning for me and my husband, nothing much, probably just dinner and a night in after homework. We are headed to Richmond this weekend with friends to go to dinner at Texas de Brazil. Never been there but heard it’s fabulous. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
