Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And an especially happy one to our randomly selected, lucky winner who goes by the name of… Oona (who will likely celebrate tonight with dinner at “a lovely vegan restaurant”). Congrats Oona!

Not sure what my husband and I are doing. However, we will be giving the kids chocolate hearts, little blank notebooks (for their various menu/order taking/store playing/spy being adventures) and lots of hugs and kisses when they wake up on Thursday. My husband is a Dallas Police officer so I will be spending Thursday cooking while he is working and then staying up late to eat with him when he gets home from his neighborhood patrol. After 5 years you get used to weird hours and learning to celebrate special times in new a exciting ways.

This Valentine’s Day the fun just won’t stop – work all day, rush home for parent-teacher interviews then hop in the car for a 2-hour drive north. The good news is that the drive ends with a 4-day weekend of skiing!
