Fab Freebie: (Anything But) A White Christmas

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We often daydream about having the iconic white Christmas here in Virginia (which is extremely rare in these parts) but after this weekend’s crazy snowstorm it looks like we might actually have one. Or at least a whatever-color-you-call-half-melted-dirty-snow-that-hangs-around-for-a-week Christmas.

Glidden Snowy House

But as of today we think you’ll be dreaming of a holiday with a bit more color thanks to Glidden. So yes, as Sunny, Lacey, Travis and Nicole guessed at the end of last week’s giveaway, this week’s prize of “one of our all time favorite items” is indeed paint. In fact, Glidden’s got a gallon for a handful of you in your choice of color and finish so there’s plenty to go around.

Glidden Display

And if we haven’t already made it abundantly clear in over two years of blogging: we love Glidden’s colors. From Gentle Tide in our bedroom and kitchen to Sand White in our living room and guest bedroom, we’ve got Glidden’s fantastic hues on almost every wall of our house. And even though we’re sad that some of those colors didn’t make the cut when Glidden revamped their line earlier this year, we totally dig how user-friendly the new lineup of colors are (they even suggest complementary accent hues on the back of each paint swatch). Plus you can easily browse inspiration rooms and coordinating color schemes both in-store and on their web site and they offer tester bottles with built-in brushes for every color. It doesn’t get much more convenient that that.

Glidden Back Of Swatch

But enough jabbering. It’s time for the entry details:

  • PRIZE: Each winner will receive a voucher to be redeemed at their neighborhood Home Depot for one gallon of Glidden paint in any color and finish of their choice.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what colors are getting you into the holiday spirit this season. Is it the traditional red and green pairing? Unconventional schemes like lavender and silver? Or do you really just have your heart set on that white Christmas concept?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 23rd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: FIVE!
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Can Me!! We have it pretty traditional here, Red’s and silver, the green comes in with the tree and garlands. Pretty simple, yet so classic and pretty!

I’m loving a teal and silver combo this year. That and the pink/lime green/silver combo I have been seeing. So fun!

    CAN ME, please!
I tried the theme colors on my tree – all white and silver one year, all red and gold one year – but it just didn’t do it for me. I have a wild variety of ornaments that have such special meaning, that to create a tree that’s just full of white decorations had no meaning at all for me. I could see how beautiful it looked, but something was missing.
So I decorate with different color ornaments and white lights, and around the rest of my house there are certain vignettes and decorations that “belong” in just that spot.
I do add a couple of new ornaments each holiday season, for fun, but I’m not tied to a color scheme. I’ll be posting holiday photos over the, well, holidays, when I have some more free time…
Would LOVE some paint to paint my guest bedroom!

CAN ME! Next year is my year for getting the interior of our house painted – buh-bye white walls! As for our Christmas scheme, I put out minimal decor this year, so no real theme colors.

I *thought* it was going to be teal/lime/silver this year, but somehow I ended up with red/silver instead. Not sure how that happened, but I like it anyhow :)

I love the traditional colors of green, red, and white. I also love the red/silver combination too. Jealous of all the snow you that y’all have! If we got that much here in Nashville, the city would be in a state of panic. The snow sure is beautiful though isn’t it?

Christmas this year is luxurious – copper and jewel tones are prevalent on our tree and in our furnishings. I love seeing non-traditional colors used around the holidays – all you need are twinkle lights and reflective surfaces. Thanks for the giveaway!

CAN ME! I have four more rooms and one hallway/stairwell left to paint in my home makeover. This would be great!

As for Christmas colors, I am into all shades of green this year. I am combining the traditional holiday kelly green with sages, limes and mints. I was inspired by the new shade we just put up in our family room- Behr’s herbal garden.

I must say I try to stick to a white/silver/blue type of a color combo for Christmas, mostly so I can keep up the winter decorations through February. And partly because I might be a big enough slacker that they STILL aren’t out yet… so at least they’ll still be up for a while after I get around to putting them out this week… boy that is pathetic when I see it in writing!

I’m a traditionalist, red and green all the way, but more a deep red and forest green than bright colors. This year for accents, it’s brown and gold, which I’ve never used before.

Loving the snow on this side of DC, too – not to mention the treat of a snow day too!
