Fab Freebie: (Anything But) A White Christmas

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We often daydream about having the iconic white Christmas here in Virginia (which is extremely rare in these parts) but after this weekend’s crazy snowstorm it looks like we might actually have one. Or at least a whatever-color-you-call-half-melted-dirty-snow-that-hangs-around-for-a-week Christmas.

Glidden Snowy House

But as of today we think you’ll be dreaming of a holiday with a bit more color thanks to Glidden. So yes, as Sunny, Lacey, Travis and Nicole guessed at the end of last week’s giveaway, this week’s prize of “one of our all time favorite items” is indeed paint. In fact, Glidden’s got a gallon for a handful of you in your choice of color and finish so there’s plenty to go around.

Glidden Display

And if we haven’t already made it abundantly clear in over two years of blogging: we love Glidden’s colors. From Gentle Tide in our bedroom and kitchen to Sand White in our living room and guest bedroom, we’ve got Glidden’s fantastic hues on almost every wall of our house. And even though we’re sad that some of those colors didn’t make the cut when Glidden revamped their line earlier this year, we totally dig how user-friendly the new lineup of colors are (they even suggest complementary accent hues on the back of each paint swatch). Plus you can easily browse inspiration rooms and coordinating color schemes both in-store and on their web site and they offer tester bottles with built-in brushes for every color. It doesn’t get much more convenient that that.

Glidden Back Of Swatch

But enough jabbering. It’s time for the entry details:

  • PRIZE: Each winner will receive a voucher to be redeemed at their neighborhood Home Depot for one gallon of Glidden paint in any color and finish of their choice.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what colors are getting you into the holiday spirit this season. Is it the traditional red and green pairing? Unconventional schemes like lavender and silver? Or do you really just have your heart set on that white Christmas concept?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 23rd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: FIVE!
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I was pleasantly surprised to see you picked similar colors that I decorated with this year…a sparkely limey green and dusty orange.

I WANTED to go with bright hot ultra pink and silver, but…my boyfriend wouldn’t have liked it.

CAN ME! We use Glidden colors almost exclusively so this would be a good prize for us :)!

Silver and blue balls made their way into our dining room to go with our China this Christmas, but silver, green and red get me most in the mood for the season :).

My colors this year are silver and white, with a hint of red in the pointsettias. I wanted all white plants, but at Home Depot’s Black Friday pointsettia blow out I only was able to snag one that was white. :-(

We had to revamp our whole color scheme this year due to a very curious three year-old. The last coupl of years we have had a lime, royal blue and teal scheme. Sadly most of our ornaments were glass.

This year we fell for a scandinavian inspired colorway. Our colors are red, white/cream, and gray with touches of metallic for some sparkle. Thankfully Ikea sells great, cheap plastic and raffia(?) ornaments.

I am being a frugal decorater (my translation: big cheapskate) this year. (I am waiting for the after Christmas sales.) Whatever comes out of the boxes I have stored is what I have up in my house – all colors of ornaments, purple, white and green on my coffee table, and a mixture of old glass ornaments in a vase next to my green shaded lamp.

Its funny, we just moved into our house this year and so I got new stockings for my husband, myself and our two dogs. Well to my surprise when I watched your christmas decorating video, I had done almost the same exact thing as you guys did with your stockings down to the name tags and green snowflakes. The only difference was the stockings were a little different patterned, but still white.

this year, i can’t get enough of all the glitter. there are so many cute things for the holidays covered in glitter from ornaments, to reindeer, to wreaths. it’s all so sparkly and festive. the only downfall is that once you bring glitter into your house you can never ever get it out.
