Fab Freebie: (Anything But) A White Christmas

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We often daydream about having the iconic white Christmas here in Virginia (which is extremely rare in these parts) but after this weekend’s crazy snowstorm it looks like we might actually have one. Or at least a whatever-color-you-call-half-melted-dirty-snow-that-hangs-around-for-a-week Christmas.

Glidden Snowy House

But as of today we think you’ll be dreaming of a holiday with a bit more color thanks to Glidden. So yes, as Sunny, Lacey, Travis and Nicole guessed at the end of last week’s giveaway, this week’s prize of “one of our all time favorite items” is indeed paint. In fact, Glidden’s got a gallon for a handful of you in your choice of color and finish so there’s plenty to go around.

Glidden Display

And if we haven’t already made it abundantly clear in over two years of blogging: we love Glidden’s colors. From Gentle Tide in our bedroom and kitchen to Sand White in our living room and guest bedroom, we’ve got Glidden’s fantastic hues on almost every wall of our house. And even though we’re sad that some of those colors didn’t make the cut when Glidden revamped their line earlier this year, we totally dig how user-friendly the new lineup of colors are (they even suggest complementary accent hues on the back of each paint swatch). Plus you can easily browse inspiration rooms and coordinating color schemes both in-store and on their web site and they offer tester bottles with built-in brushes for every color. It doesn’t get much more convenient that that.

Glidden Back Of Swatch

But enough jabbering. It’s time for the entry details:

  • PRIZE: Each winner will receive a voucher to be redeemed at their neighborhood Home Depot for one gallon of Glidden paint in any color and finish of their choice.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what colors are getting you into the holiday spirit this season. Is it the traditional red and green pairing? Unconventional schemes like lavender and silver? Or do you really just have your heart set on that white Christmas concept?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 23rd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: FIVE!
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

My favorite color is silver, so it’s usually blue and silver. We painted the living room a dark, rich purple this year though. So I think next year it will be blue, purple, and silver.

    Can Me- pretty please!!!!

This year blue and silver has really taken over, so I’ve thrown in some green too. I’ve weeded out most of the red to keep from looking like the American Flag.

I typically stick with silver, blue, red, and/or green. I always look at the “new colors” and think they are need- but stick with the classics.

Please can me! Our bedroom is in great need of a serenity check. For the holidays I love to decorate in creams and golds with lots of texture.

For example at a small dinner party we had recently I laid out a cream with gold swirls tablecloth, white dishes on top of square mirrors as chargers (snagged at Ikea for around $5 for a pack of 4), gold cloth napkins, glass votives and glass pillar stands with cream and white candles that floated down the center of the table and sheepskin throws layered casually over the head chairs. It was beautiful!

Love your blog! It’s great work.

since we are still mid-move after a major renovation in our first house, we didnt go big on holiday decorations this year. but even my new ikea dishes and my new target kitchen towels are different shades of chartreuse :) lovely!

We always love the traditional colors of Christmas, but more on the rich side. Deep wine/burgundy tones, silver, and forest greens. And there’s nothing better than snowy white to top things off. Living on the east coast has been especially exciting after our close to Christmas snow. We’re like you, though, there is no telling what the color of the snow will be like come Christmas day. Go figure, its been 30 all week but on Christmas day its supposed to be 42 and rainy! Yuck!

Merry Christmas to you both and to all your readers!
