Fab Freebie: (Anything But) A White Christmas

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We often daydream about having the iconic white Christmas here in Virginia (which is extremely rare in these parts) but after this weekend’s crazy snowstorm it looks like we might actually have one. Or at least a whatever-color-you-call-half-melted-dirty-snow-that-hangs-around-for-a-week Christmas.

Glidden Snowy House

But as of today we think you’ll be dreaming of a holiday with a bit more color thanks to Glidden. So yes, as Sunny, Lacey, Travis and Nicole guessed at the end of last week’s giveaway, this week’s prize of “one of our all time favorite items” is indeed paint. In fact, Glidden’s got a gallon for a handful of you in your choice of color and finish so there’s plenty to go around.

Glidden Display

And if we haven’t already made it abundantly clear in over two years of blogging: we love Glidden’s colors. From Gentle Tide in our bedroom and kitchen to Sand White in our living room and guest bedroom, we’ve got Glidden’s fantastic hues on almost every wall of our house. And even though we’re sad that some of those colors didn’t make the cut when Glidden revamped their line earlier this year, we totally dig how user-friendly the new lineup of colors are (they even suggest complementary accent hues on the back of each paint swatch). Plus you can easily browse inspiration rooms and coordinating color schemes both in-store and on their web site and they offer tester bottles with built-in brushes for every color. It doesn’t get much more convenient that that.

Glidden Back Of Swatch

But enough jabbering. It’s time for the entry details:

  • PRIZE: Each winner will receive a voucher to be redeemed at their neighborhood Home Depot for one gallon of Glidden paint in any color and finish of their choice.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what colors are getting you into the holiday spirit this season. Is it the traditional red and green pairing? Unconventional schemes like lavender and silver? Or do you really just have your heart set on that white Christmas concept?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 23rd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: FIVE!
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I’m into burgundy and light green this year. Although all my presents are going to be wrapped in brown paper with red ribbon and white tags. Next year I want to do more blue!

The colors red & gold remind me of Christmas. . . and my wedding! I just got married last December and the colors we used in our wedding were red & gold to compliment a christmas theme wedding. I think those two colors are Christmas classic.

This year we’ve gone traditional with red everywhere with gold and silver accents. I plan on converting our Christmas red to a new color scheme of red, black and cream with accents of pale gray and silver.

I’ve decorated with ruby red and lime green then accented with gold. It’s not my normal Christmas decor theme, bit we’re really enjoying it.

It’s an all silver and white Christmas this year. Nothing fancy, but it’s the first year that I’ve set out to do any decorating, so I wanted to keep it pretty simple. This could get out of hand very quickly, lol!

I didn’t get to decorate this year! I’m in between apartments (and states, yikes!) so I’m crashing with my parents (double yikes!)

I do have a huge box of Christmas decor set aside for next year though- all chartreuse and mixed metallics.

Since I’m in Alaska, there’s no need to worry about having a white Christmas. Done. White Halloween, White Thanksgiving, White Christmas, White Valentine’s Day, White Easter… I could go on and on… This year, I’ve been into trees, fresh greens and holly.

This year, Christmas is all about whites, creams and other neutrals. I’m in a hardcore beach cottagey mood lately. But then, at my parents’ house, it’s lots of warm cranberries and deep browns and greens. Very warm and cozy!

I’ve been really loving the white and blue lights my neighbors have on their tree this year. I’ve always been a fan of the classic white lights, but paired with the strands of all blue, it looks really pretty. I’m definitely going to buy a string of blue lights after Christmas for next year!

I love all the Christmas color combinations, so it’s hard for me to pick just one. Over the last few years though, I’ve been gravitating towards white, pink, purple, teal, blue, red and green. I think those colors, together, look so fresh and inviting!
