Fab Freebie: (Anything But) A White Christmas

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We often daydream about having the iconic white Christmas here in Virginia (which is extremely rare in these parts) but after this weekend’s crazy snowstorm it looks like we might actually have one. Or at least a whatever-color-you-call-half-melted-dirty-snow-that-hangs-around-for-a-week Christmas.

Glidden Snowy House

But as of today we think you’ll be dreaming of a holiday with a bit more color thanks to Glidden. So yes, as Sunny, Lacey, Travis and Nicole guessed at the end of last week’s giveaway, this week’s prize of “one of our all time favorite items” is indeed paint. In fact, Glidden’s got a gallon for a handful of you in your choice of color and finish so there’s plenty to go around.

Glidden Display

And if we haven’t already made it abundantly clear in over two years of blogging: we love Glidden’s colors. From Gentle Tide in our bedroom and kitchen to Sand White in our living room and guest bedroom, we’ve got Glidden’s fantastic hues on almost every wall of our house. And even though we’re sad that some of those colors didn’t make the cut when Glidden revamped their line earlier this year, we totally dig how user-friendly the new lineup of colors are (they even suggest complementary accent hues on the back of each paint swatch). Plus you can easily browse inspiration rooms and coordinating color schemes both in-store and on their web site and they offer tester bottles with built-in brushes for every color. It doesn’t get much more convenient that that.

Glidden Back Of Swatch

But enough jabbering. It’s time for the entry details:

  • PRIZE: Each winner will receive a voucher to be redeemed at their neighborhood Home Depot for one gallon of Glidden paint in any color and finish of their choice.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what colors are getting you into the holiday spirit this season. Is it the traditional red and green pairing? Unconventional schemes like lavender and silver? Or do you really just have your heart set on that white Christmas concept?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 23rd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: FIVE!
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We usually have a lot of muted greens around the house, so Christmas is the chance to rock the red – which is a big deal, since we’re both big Caps hockey fans.

We do the traditional red, green, silver and gold. I tried convincing my husband to change it up this year, but he enjoys the Christmas-iness of red and green too much.

I need a can of Glidden Granite Grey like crazy, the tester’s been on my kitchen walls for weeks!

For the holidays this year I am really liking a pale gold glow with dark green.

I’m not decorating with it much this year – but I love cherry red and sky blue with white and green accents. Fresh, and depending on the items, you can use those colors throughout the year in the house!

It’s not Christmas unless it’s the tradition red and green to me….http://shelleyscollection.blogspot.com/2009/12/its-most-wonderful-time-of-year.html I went for natural this year with free pine cones and greenery. You can’t beat it.

But I also started one of my own home projects including paint this past weekend. Should I change the color again? I am not sure….I left Christmas behind with this color:

I have always been an “every color is a Christmas Color” kind of girl. Our tree always has all the ornaments in as many colors as can be found. My mantel, however is sticking with red, white and silver… with some green thrown in the mix due to not yet removed marble tile (hello 90s)!

Would LOVE some paint for the bathroom or for the two pieces of furniture I’m planning on painting. Pick me, random.org, pick me!

We’re loving the classy, yet traditional mix of red and white this season. We’ve got a nice variety of ornaments on our tree in terms of styles and colors, but thanks to oversized red ornaments and white poinsettias, our tree still looks beautiful and maintains an overall theme!

We just moved into our “new” 1920’s house after remodeling for a year, and have a new Christmas decorating color scheme this year… salmon, cream, and green! It’s looking sooo pretty! Lots and lots of fresh greens, white lights, white poinsettias, and a gorgeous shade of salmon ribbon from Paper Source.
