Fab Freebie: All Time Lowe’s

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

For our big two year blogiversary and we’re celebrating with one of the biggest freebies we’ve ever freebied: a $500 Lowe’s gift card.

Lowes 500 Gift Card

Did that sink in yet? It still hasn’t for us. When we started hunting for the perfect blogiversary prize a few weeks ago we never thought we’d land something so exciting. It’s like Lowe’s is giving one of you the chance to take on a big project and they’re footing the bill. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to be giving it away.

We probably don’t need to remind you of all the items you could snag during a $500 shopping blitz at Lowe’s – paint, lighting, power tools, holiday decor, flooring. Heck, you could even get a new dishwasher or something. So in case you’re having any trouble picturing where you’d put five hundred Lowe’s dollars, allow us to lend our expertise (that is, our money-spending assistance). Here are a few items that we’ve got our eyes on:

This Idylis air purifier: Since the cold weather will have us closing up our windows and doors soon, the HEPA filter on this baby keeps indoor air from getting stale and could really help Sherry as we get into allergy season.

Lowes Idylis Air Pure

A new lawn mower: I know the season’s ending, but I’ve had it up to here (picture my hand above my head) with the used mower we bought when we moved back in 2006 (let’s just say it’s no longer self-propelling). Lowe’s online Mower Selector tool helped turn up a bunch of options that we could snag for well under 500 beans.

Lowes Mower Guide

A cool bathroom sink: With a full bathroom redo moving closer to the top of our to-do list we’re already starting to fantasize about where we can add some special touches, like plopping a vessel sink on top of a thrifted piece of furniture-turned-vanity. And Lowe’s has a bunch of awesome vessel sink options.

Lowes Prize Sinks

I’ve also been contemplating adding some outdoor path lighting or taking our garage organization a step further with some more sophisticated shelving. But we’d better quit letting our minds wander because we’re not the ones who get the $500 gift card… one of you does! Here’s how:

  • PRIZE: A $500 Lowe’s gift card (in case you forgot)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIMME THAT $500” (why dance around it, right?) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us what project you might spend the prize on. Surely we’re not the only ones daydreaming about where $500 could go (and no, we won’t be picking a winner based on this answer – it’ll still be random)
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Thursday, September 24th at 8pm EST (that’s an extra day!)
  • WINNER: One lucky lady or gent
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA (but Lowe’s loving Canadians with friends or family in the states can enter and we’ll send it to your US relative/friend who can forward it on to you).
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

GIMME THAT $500!!! I need a new front door with pretty glass to let light into my living room, instead of my current brown metal door that sucks in heat and will actually burn your hand during the hot summer months.

I just want to say that I love your blog. Your many projects have givin me much inspiration. Thank you! So i would love to use this gift card to get my 1982 ranch up to date. As much as I love 1982 since it was the year my husband and myself came to be,I don’t love the style so much. This is our first and only home we’ll ever live in and I would love to complete some of the projects I have in mind. For instance, painting my kitchen and bathroom cabinets, replacing light fixtures, finish changing out all the baseboards, add some crown molding to our main room, and most importantly new energy efficient toilets that you don’t have to jiggle the handle in order for it to stop wasting water. That’s just a couple of the many projects that we are slowly getting too.

    GIMME THAT $500…please.

I would use the $500 on my front porch. Your renovation has inspired me to tackle the tacky brown artificial turf, the 80’s style columns and soften the porch with a spindle railing and a cute chair and ottoman to make it match the rest of the house renovations we have done. It is the last project to complete the cottage feel.

    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

A Lowes $500 gift card would have no problem going to use for us. We’d use it on one of a few projects – either renovating our powder room (new vanity, framed mirror, paint, and possibly a new toilet), or maybe on some crown molding for our family/dining room, or possibly towards new recessed lighting for our bedroom, and the card could even be used towards new carpet for the entire upstairs (it needs it…). Either way, it will get used quite quickly. Wish me luck!

I’m sure my hubby would want to buy a new toilet. He HATES our toilet. Otherwise, our upstairs rental needs new carpet. Not super fun for us, but totally necessary. If I told my hubby that I wanted to paint the living room AGAIN, he might leave me. ;) Kidding of course…I think.

We have the ability, my husband just re-did both baths in the condo, a little Lowe’s gift certificate would be a real gift!

    Hi!

We have a dryer situation at our house..in that ours doesnt dry anything. It takes at least 3 cycles to dry a load, so our clothes sometimes sit damp for a few hours before we start the dryer again. Then we have to wash again because they smell mildew-ish. Not energy efficient and makes a task we already hate more miserable. We would definitely buy a beautiful and efficient new dryer! (What a dork — who knew a new appliance could be so exciting?)
