Fab Freebie: All Time Lowe’s

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

For our big two year blogiversary and we’re celebrating with one of the biggest freebies we’ve ever freebied: a $500 Lowe’s gift card.

Lowes 500 Gift Card

Did that sink in yet? It still hasn’t for us. When we started hunting for the perfect blogiversary prize a few weeks ago we never thought we’d land something so exciting. It’s like Lowe’s is giving one of you the chance to take on a big project and they’re footing the bill. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to be giving it away.

We probably don’t need to remind you of all the items you could snag during a $500 shopping blitz at Lowe’s – paint, lighting, power tools, holiday decor, flooring. Heck, you could even get a new dishwasher or something. So in case you’re having any trouble picturing where you’d put five hundred Lowe’s dollars, allow us to lend our expertise (that is, our money-spending assistance). Here are a few items that we’ve got our eyes on:

This Idylis air purifier: Since the cold weather will have us closing up our windows and doors soon, the HEPA filter on this baby keeps indoor air from getting stale and could really help Sherry as we get into allergy season.

Lowes Idylis Air Pure

A new lawn mower: I know the season’s ending, but I’ve had it up to here (picture my hand above my head) with the used mower we bought when we moved back in 2006 (let’s just say it’s no longer self-propelling). Lowe’s online Mower Selector tool helped turn up a bunch of options that we could snag for well under 500 beans.

Lowes Mower Guide

A cool bathroom sink: With a full bathroom redo moving closer to the top of our to-do list we’re already starting to fantasize about where we can add some special touches, like plopping a vessel sink on top of a thrifted piece of furniture-turned-vanity. And Lowe’s has a bunch of awesome vessel sink options.

Lowes Prize Sinks

I’ve also been contemplating adding some outdoor path lighting or taking our garage organization a step further with some more sophisticated shelving. But we’d better quit letting our minds wander because we’re not the ones who get the $500 gift card… one of you does! Here’s how:

  • PRIZE: A $500 Lowe’s gift card (in case you forgot)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIMME THAT $500” (why dance around it, right?) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us what project you might spend the prize on. Surely we’re not the only ones daydreaming about where $500 could go (and no, we won’t be picking a winner based on this answer – it’ll still be random)
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Thursday, September 24th at 8pm EST (that’s an extra day!)
  • WINNER: One lucky lady or gent
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA (but Lowe’s loving Canadians with friends or family in the states can enter and we’ll send it to your US relative/friend who can forward it on to you).
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    GIMME THAT $500!!!

I always enter these types of things and never win- so maybe this is my lucky day?!?

I would probably use the $500 for new paint in our kitchen- the colors the previous owners chose are not too great! We could also like to add some tile back splash and wainscotting (sp?) since we have so much wall space.

    Thanks!

I’m in the planning stages of a kitchen rennovation and that gift card could GO a long way. Let’s see, tile for the floor and backsplash; new dishwasher; cabinet hardware, undercabinet & inner-cabinet lighting, new chandelier. The possibilities are endless.

We are updating our bottom living room and just yesterday we knocked down a 1970’s style brick wall that stood about 3’ft high. We are now removing popcorn, taking out the bricks on the fireplace so we can put up subway tiles and putting down a cork floor, so, GIMME that $500!

We would redecorate our bathroom. We just installed laminate floors and now we need to tear up the linoleum in the bathroom, take down the horrible wallpaper, get a new vanity, and paint up the walls to match. We would then paint our bedroom to finish off that side of the house.

We could have that $500 spent in 5 minutes flat at Lowe’s. Right now we are working on a DIY Bathroom Remodel. We still need to pick up some tile, a new vanity, towelbars and a sink (as well as all the new tools we will need!). We also have our eye on eventually getting new counters and cabinets in our kitchen as well as new appliances.

After 17 1/2 years, my parents were finally able to move out of their starter home and into a bigger place, of course the did this after all but one of us kids moved out. Anyway, the basement in their new place is not finished and this $500 would be a great Christmas present to help jump start the building process in the basement!

I don’t even know where to start. We moved into our first home in June and have been doing small projects here and there. On top of our list of “big” projects (probably would cost $500..hint, hint):

1-finish the basement. I hate, no loathe, going into our basement. It is dark, damp, and smells funny. I’d really love to put up some drywall, lighting, and flooring…mmmm.
2-Redo the garage! We have a beautiful 2.5 car garage that needs a little TLC…
3-I could go on for days :)

But we’re mid-home office re-do so we could certainly use some help there too… but then getting some storage/organization for the shed in our backyard would be nice too… the list is endless – and so goes home-ownership, right? Fun to dream, though!

Our kitchen…ugh!! When my husband bought the house 5 years ago, the entire house was sponged painted a mirad of colors and the kitchen was no exception and it even had hand painted chili peppers in the corners and chili pepper pulls on all the drawers and doors. The chili peppers are gone, but the pulls remain. The cupboards need a facelift as well, I have been dreaming about what to do with the kitchen and this would help!
