Fab Freebie: All Time Lowe’s

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

For our big two year blogiversary and we’re celebrating with one of the biggest freebies we’ve ever freebied: a $500 Lowe’s gift card.

Lowes 500 Gift Card

Did that sink in yet? It still hasn’t for us. When we started hunting for the perfect blogiversary prize a few weeks ago we never thought we’d land something so exciting. It’s like Lowe’s is giving one of you the chance to take on a big project and they’re footing the bill. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to be giving it away.

We probably don’t need to remind you of all the items you could snag during a $500 shopping blitz at Lowe’s – paint, lighting, power tools, holiday decor, flooring. Heck, you could even get a new dishwasher or something. So in case you’re having any trouble picturing where you’d put five hundred Lowe’s dollars, allow us to lend our expertise (that is, our money-spending assistance). Here are a few items that we’ve got our eyes on:

This Idylis air purifier: Since the cold weather will have us closing up our windows and doors soon, the HEPA filter on this baby keeps indoor air from getting stale and could really help Sherry as we get into allergy season.

Lowes Idylis Air Pure

A new lawn mower: I know the season’s ending, but I’ve had it up to here (picture my hand above my head) with the used mower we bought when we moved back in 2006 (let’s just say it’s no longer self-propelling). Lowe’s online Mower Selector tool helped turn up a bunch of options that we could snag for well under 500 beans.

Lowes Mower Guide

A cool bathroom sink: With a full bathroom redo moving closer to the top of our to-do list we’re already starting to fantasize about where we can add some special touches, like plopping a vessel sink on top of a thrifted piece of furniture-turned-vanity. And Lowe’s has a bunch of awesome vessel sink options.

Lowes Prize Sinks

I’ve also been contemplating adding some outdoor path lighting or taking our garage organization a step further with some more sophisticated shelving. But we’d better quit letting our minds wander because we’re not the ones who get the $500 gift card… one of you does! Here’s how:

  • PRIZE: A $500 Lowe’s gift card (in case you forgot)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIMME THAT $500” (why dance around it, right?) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us what project you might spend the prize on. Surely we’re not the only ones daydreaming about where $500 could go (and no, we won’t be picking a winner based on this answer – it’ll still be random)
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Thursday, September 24th at 8pm EST (that’s an extra day!)
  • WINNER: One lucky lady or gent
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA (but Lowe’s loving Canadians with friends or family in the states can enter and we’ll send it to your US relative/friend who can forward it on to you).
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    GIMME THAT $500

As you’re celebration your 2 year blogiversary, my husband and I are celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary! (and 10 years of being together). A nice headboard, rug, wall art and clock would bring our bedroom into adulthood!! Though it’s hard to admit, at 30, we’re all grown up – and we should live like it! :-O

We were just about to start in on our bathroom rough-in project when the old ’96-er (that’s in reference to my 1996 Honda civic) broke down. Bye bye bathroom! We’re looking forward to the day when we can stand back in complete awe and amazement at the finished bathroom.

I swear that my fiancé and I practically live at Lowes, with all of the porch painting, and deck staining that goes on, we could really use the $500. Honestly though, we would LOVE to remodel our bedroom, the wedding is in less than 2 weeks, and we really need a new space to celebrate our marital bliss. :)

GIMME THAT $500 because my wife will not buy me a new lawn mower! Our riding mower only works if I steer with one hand and pull a string attached to a gear that is broken! We cannot afford to fix the ride a long mower and nobody has offered to buy it yet! Pick me because my wife spent a lot of time talking me into entering this contest.

    GIMME THAT $500! Please!

We just moved, so our project list is quite long:
    More insulation for our attic

Some sort of closet organization system. I swear I don’t understand how a house this size can have such microscoptic closets.

Something to spruce up our deck, it is rather barren

Rocking chairs for our front porch

Thanks for all the great ideas!

We’d spend it on basement supplies – we are in the process of making that space livable and play-able for our daughter…

or maybe we’ll spend it on a much needed reno on our original 1950s bathroom….that currently has a scratched up cast iron tub, 2″ thick wall tiles & a painted over tiled floor that’s chipping….hmmm…imagine the possibilities!

Oh, where to start – we bought our house a year ago and have been focused on indoor projects, so I think I’d spend the $500 on getting the yard up to snuff…outdoor dining furniture, landscaping, etc. I’d love to put in a veggie/herb garden so we could eat what we grow!

We would use it to finish the transformation of our covered patio. We just bought the house, and this “room” used to have 3 glass walls and was almost entirely filled by an old hot tub, turning it into a sauna off the back of our Dallas home. We have hopes of turning it into a relaxing outdoor living space, much like yall’s area.

I would love to put it towards new kitchen countertops. We recently upgraded to all new appliances in our kitchen, but we still have the original 1980s Formica countertops. They are stained, scratched, and ugly! Unfortunately that project is out of our budget. This gift card would help so much!

    GIMME THAT $500…no seriously!

It’s hard to narrow down what we would use it for. We’ve had our eye on a new sink to maximize our bathroom space, or maybe a new vanity for more storage (as our place is seriously lacking). Some more paint too…this would be our 3rd time paint, I’m sure we’ll get it right this time. Ohh the possibilities…other ideas: GOOD track lighting, a fan for the hot/humid NE summers…the list could go on.
