Fab Freebie: All Time Lowe’s

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

For our big two year blogiversary and we’re celebrating with one of the biggest freebies we’ve ever freebied: a $500 Lowe’s gift card.

Lowes 500 Gift Card

Did that sink in yet? It still hasn’t for us. When we started hunting for the perfect blogiversary prize a few weeks ago we never thought we’d land something so exciting. It’s like Lowe’s is giving one of you the chance to take on a big project and they’re footing the bill. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to be giving it away.

We probably don’t need to remind you of all the items you could snag during a $500 shopping blitz at Lowe’s – paint, lighting, power tools, holiday decor, flooring. Heck, you could even get a new dishwasher or something. So in case you’re having any trouble picturing where you’d put five hundred Lowe’s dollars, allow us to lend our expertise (that is, our money-spending assistance). Here are a few items that we’ve got our eyes on:

This Idylis air purifier: Since the cold weather will have us closing up our windows and doors soon, the HEPA filter on this baby keeps indoor air from getting stale and could really help Sherry as we get into allergy season.

Lowes Idylis Air Pure

A new lawn mower: I know the season’s ending, but I’ve had it up to here (picture my hand above my head) with the used mower we bought when we moved back in 2006 (let’s just say it’s no longer self-propelling). Lowe’s online Mower Selector tool helped turn up a bunch of options that we could snag for well under 500 beans.

Lowes Mower Guide

A cool bathroom sink: With a full bathroom redo moving closer to the top of our to-do list we’re already starting to fantasize about where we can add some special touches, like plopping a vessel sink on top of a thrifted piece of furniture-turned-vanity. And Lowe’s has a bunch of awesome vessel sink options.

Lowes Prize Sinks

I’ve also been contemplating adding some outdoor path lighting or taking our garage organization a step further with some more sophisticated shelving. But we’d better quit letting our minds wander because we’re not the ones who get the $500 gift card… one of you does! Here’s how:

  • PRIZE: A $500 Lowe’s gift card (in case you forgot)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIMME THAT $500” (why dance around it, right?) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us what project you might spend the prize on. Surely we’re not the only ones daydreaming about where $500 could go (and no, we won’t be picking a winner based on this answer – it’ll still be random)
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Thursday, September 24th at 8pm EST (that’s an extra day!)
  • WINNER: One lucky lady or gent
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA (but Lowe’s loving Canadians with friends or family in the states can enter and we’ll send it to your US relative/friend who can forward it on to you).
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    GIMME THAT $500

With our new to us fixer-upper I am sure there is plenty we could do with that money! A bathroom overhaul is in the works for the spring, but I think a new fridge is at the top of the list, as ours is avocado green with fake wood handles!

I just can’t get things done with no $!) – stain for porch, new roller shade for kiddos room to replace broken and shredded one… new paint for den – OOOOOO… tiles for a kitchen back splash!!!! Oh, that would be a dream come true!!!

    GIMME THAT $500!!!

I’m getting married this weekend and thankfully my soon-to-be husband planned ahead for us and we already have a wonderful little house that I will soon call home. And while I already love it, there are definitely a number of things we want to do to make it our own. Here’s just a short list of our plans:
    tile the bathroom and kitchen
    refinish the hardwood floors
    recarpet the bedrooms
    repaint a couple rooms
    new light fixtures.

That $500 from Lowe’s sure would help us!

Holy crow, that’s an awesome giveway.

I would love nothing more than to start redoing our 1922 original bathroom.

There’s wainscoting for shower walls (we have three plastic shower curtains to protect it from rotting more). Also, there is less than sub-par ventilation system, which means we have wipe off the mold from our ceiling every few weeks. Last but not least, there’s our tile and baseboard that boast a permanent shade of dirty. Doesn’t matter what you do to clean it, always dirty.

    Happy blogversary

Gimme That $500! I am buying my first house soon, though I can think of 500 ways I can use this money on, my first option would be to buy a washing machine. I have been living in high rise buildings all my adult life and tired of using coin laundry.

Pretty please? We’re on a home-and-yard-improvement spree in our casa with a baby due to arrive about 12 weeks from now. So this gift card would be put to GREAT use! Season’s-end landscaping projects, creating a new nursery and guest room, a major garage re-org, and potentially even sealing/painting our icky basement floor. The possibilities are truly endless…

We’ve been eyeing up under-the-sink water filtration systems, so we’d probably grab one of those. Also, we hope to remodel our 1/2 bath soon (just finished our full bath reno) so we could use it for flooring or a sink. Or we could use a new kitchen countertop/backsplash/sink/faucet. Or we could use it on new wood floors for our living/dining/office/bedroom. So many possibilities!

our cute little 1950s house has an extremely un-cute bathroom that is completely covered in baby-pink-with-silver-flecks tiles. the previous owners decided to upgrade by painting the tile green…so we now have flaking green paint on pink tiles and it must go! we’d put this gift card towards tiles and supplies to diy a major makeover of the bathroom persuasion.

New carpet please! We are currently saving for new carpet for our bedrooms. We moved in in May and haven’t had the cash to buy the carpet. It’s rather disgusting actually. We have people who come over and say, “Oh that color isn’t bad.” (It’s a light brown). Then I show them what color it should be – light blue. Ewww and that’d after I steam cleaned it twice. Can’t wait to walk on new, clean, carept.
