Fab Freebie: All Time Lowe’s

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

For our big two year blogiversary and we’re celebrating with one of the biggest freebies we’ve ever freebied: a $500 Lowe’s gift card.

Lowes 500 Gift Card

Did that sink in yet? It still hasn’t for us. When we started hunting for the perfect blogiversary prize a few weeks ago we never thought we’d land something so exciting. It’s like Lowe’s is giving one of you the chance to take on a big project and they’re footing the bill. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to be giving it away.

We probably don’t need to remind you of all the items you could snag during a $500 shopping blitz at Lowe’s – paint, lighting, power tools, holiday decor, flooring. Heck, you could even get a new dishwasher or something. So in case you’re having any trouble picturing where you’d put five hundred Lowe’s dollars, allow us to lend our expertise (that is, our money-spending assistance). Here are a few items that we’ve got our eyes on:

This Idylis air purifier: Since the cold weather will have us closing up our windows and doors soon, the HEPA filter on this baby keeps indoor air from getting stale and could really help Sherry as we get into allergy season.

Lowes Idylis Air Pure

A new lawn mower: I know the season’s ending, but I’ve had it up to here (picture my hand above my head) with the used mower we bought when we moved back in 2006 (let’s just say it’s no longer self-propelling). Lowe’s online Mower Selector tool helped turn up a bunch of options that we could snag for well under 500 beans.

Lowes Mower Guide

A cool bathroom sink: With a full bathroom redo moving closer to the top of our to-do list we’re already starting to fantasize about where we can add some special touches, like plopping a vessel sink on top of a thrifted piece of furniture-turned-vanity. And Lowe’s has a bunch of awesome vessel sink options.

Lowes Prize Sinks

I’ve also been contemplating adding some outdoor path lighting or taking our garage organization a step further with some more sophisticated shelving. But we’d better quit letting our minds wander because we’re not the ones who get the $500 gift card… one of you does! Here’s how:

  • PRIZE: A $500 Lowe’s gift card (in case you forgot)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIMME THAT $500” (why dance around it, right?) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us what project you might spend the prize on. Surely we’re not the only ones daydreaming about where $500 could go (and no, we won’t be picking a winner based on this answer – it’ll still be random)
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Thursday, September 24th at 8pm EST (that’s an extra day!)
  • WINNER: One lucky lady or gent
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA (but Lowe’s loving Canadians with friends or family in the states can enter and we’ll send it to your US relative/friend who can forward it on to you).
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

My husband and I just got our first new home last week! Although we are tremendously excited, we could definitely use the extra cash to help with the costs of installing new counter tops. The one we have now has definitely been used to the max…and we surely have scrubbed it down as much as possible, but it definitely need a major redo!

GIMME THAT $500! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeese!!!! I moved into my “significant others” house last year, he is from S. Africa and about 15 years behind, with style and color. He re-did the lower 1/2 bath when he bought the house (approx. 5 years ago)~ and painted the bathroom walls the most hideous color of MAROON you can imagine, as well as adding a wall paper topper that had both MAROON and FOREST GREEN accents. He of course added “BRASS” hardware, and YES, there were even towels to match the wallpaper topper – it was horrifying! When I had to use the bathroom, I’d climb all of our stairs, just to use another bathroom, just so I wouldn’t have to be in that small suffocating room.

So in answer to what I would use the money for: I would use every bit of that $500 to re-paint, change out hardware, tear down that nasty topper, etc. to make that 1/2 bath modern and spa-like…. PLEASE CONSIDER my plea – I’ll send pictures gladly,so you can see what I’m talking about… :) Thank you for your consideration! Tiffany

    GIMME THAT $500!

Our family has lost 1/2 our income over the past year, but at the same time gained an additional child! We could seriously use some technology assistance (TV -to keep the kids busy, DVD player, etc.), lighting for the house, upgrades and more importantly storage for the added people in a small space. Simply the excitement and positive feelings that “winning” anything could bring to our souls would be so great!

GIMME THAT $500!!! We just bought a house…last week! Super exciting, but it also comes at a crazy time. We are both working full time, I just went back to school, and my husband is having knee surgery next week, crazy timing. The house needs lots of work because we bought it 90% done, which means we got a CRAZY deal on it, but it also means that we have to put alot of time into it to make it our own. We are doing everything ourselves, which is awesome, but just means more work. I don’t even know where to start in telling you where I would use the $500…possibly a new bathroom vanity for the guest bathroom, cool light fixtures, tools, etc. The list is endless :-)

    GIMME THAT $500!

We are closing on a new house on 8 October and this would be FABULOUS! We’re downsizing – tried a large older home and it was too much to handle. So we bought a cute little 2 bedroom bungalow with just enough coziness for a family of three! Plus the bungalow has less “to-do’s” but still enough to keep us busy for the next year. First up: Fitting the mud room with a little plumbing so that my washer and dryer can up upstairs! Even if we have to wait, lugging laundry through a smaller house and down one short flight of stairs will be WAY better than lugging it through 2500 square feet and down two 9 foot room flights…

So many things!!! I’d make the $500 work for me – create a laundry room, maybe floor model washer or dryer, or a stove!! Or bathroom sink makeover! The possibilities are endless. OR faucets. I’ve seen the hands=free one on tv that you tap with your arm.

The idea of mowing our grass sans gasoline fumes is fantastic! We’d also use the card to liven up the back patio that I plan on spending many fall nights on :)
