About six months ago, this charming watercolor painting of Burger showed up as a surprise Christmas present in our mailbox. Ain’t he cute?
Fast forward to the present day. The thoughtful artist, Gadora Wilder (the snappy alter ego of Stephanie Lewis) is back to offer up a fun YHL giveaway. Which means one of you will score an artistic still life of your very own canine, cat, canary, chameleon or even chair (yes, Gadora does pets and still lifes a plenty)! That way you can capture your favorite furry friend or proudest decorating decision as one-of-a-kind artwork.
Based on a photo you submit, she’ll digitally enhance it, print it on watercolor paper, over-paint it with watercolor, mat it, and send it back to you all ready to frame.
So here’s how to get your shot at this week’s prize:
- PRIZE: One 8×10 custom watercolor of your pet (or any other still life) by Gadora Wilder

- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what pet photo or still life you’d love to have rendered as a painting. An especially cute pic of your feline snuggled in bed? A goofy photo of your pup in the snow? Oh my goodness. I’d love to have a painting of my beloved dog Remmy doodle. He just passed his canine good citizen test! He’s just wonderful (although he still tries to eat seaweed whenever we go to the beach.)

This is so awesome! I’ve been wanting to find a way to commemorate my orange tabby cat, Crispy, ever since he passed away almost two years ago. I have the sweetest picture of him in a green blanket that’s always been my favorite. That or the one of him wearing the pink legwarmers I knit him, channeling Olivia Newton John. Haha!

If ever I were to win a giveaway, this would be the one! I’ve always wanted a painting of our beloved dog, Brutus. He’s a 10 year old lab mix with a huge head and the most loving demeanor. Watercolor this! Not to give you a whole sob story, but my adorable Boxer Jeter has recently been diagnosed with alopecia. We have spent a lot of money to find out that he is losing his hair just like people sometimes lose it due to alopecia. His vet (and a second opinion vet) say there’s not really anything we can do to treat it. So I would love to win this watercolor to use on a picture of him when he had his full beautiful coat!
