About six months ago, this charming watercolor painting of Burger showed up as a surprise Christmas present in our mailbox. Ain’t he cute?
Fast forward to the present day. The thoughtful artist, Gadora Wilder (the snappy alter ego of Stephanie Lewis) is back to offer up a fun YHL giveaway. Which means one of you will score an artistic still life of your very own canine, cat, canary, chameleon or even chair (yes, Gadora does pets and still lifes a plenty)! That way you can capture your favorite furry friend or proudest decorating decision as one-of-a-kind artwork.
Based on a photo you submit, she’ll digitally enhance it, print it on watercolor paper, over-paint it with watercolor, mat it, and send it back to you all ready to frame.
So here’s how to get your shot at this week’s prize:
- PRIZE: One 8×10 custom watercolor of your pet (or any other still life) by Gadora Wilder

- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what pet photo or still life you’d love to have rendered as a painting. An especially cute pic of your feline snuggled in bed? A goofy photo of your pup in the snow? Or that favorite cozy corner of your living room? Feel free to include a link or post the pic over on our Facebook page too.

WATERCOLOR THIS! I have a great picture of my 12 year old, deaf, Prozac-taking Chihuahua Corgi mix lounging with his feet turned in. He loves to clean his toes, so this is probably what he was doing when I snapped the picture, but I like to pretend he is doing yoga. I love that little guy!

WATERCOLOR THIS!! I have so many great pics of my yellow lab, Bodie, who just turned 11. It would be hard to choose. One that sticks out in my mind though is a black and white I took when he was 3 months old. I was holding a toy up over my head when I took the picture and his tongue is hanging way out and he just looks so cute.

I have a rescue mutt, a doxie/terrier mix named Fred and he is my most precious baby. I have a cute pic of him as a baby in my suitcase, thinking (hoping?) he was going with me to New York. He’s 10 years old now and grey of face but that baby pic of him is so adorable.

She’s not as photogenic as Burger. :) I did however, snap a pic of her in the snow about a year ago that is amazing. You can see the snow sticking to her fur. I would LOVE to have the opportunity to have a watercolor copy hanging on the wall!
