Fab Freebie: A Wilder Watercolor

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

About six months ago, this charming watercolor painting of Burger showed up as a surprise Christmas present in our mailbox. Ain’t he cute?

Gadora Burger

Fast forward to the present day. The thoughtful artist, Gadora Wilder (the snappy alter ego of Stephanie Lewis) is back to offer up a fun YHL giveaway. Which means one of you will score an artistic still life of your very own canine, cat, canary, chameleon or even chair (yes, Gadora does pets and still lifes a plenty)!  That way you can capture your favorite furry friend or proudest decorating decision as one-of-a-kind artwork.

Gadora Sette2

Based on a photo you submit, she’ll digitally enhance it, print it on watercolor paper, over-paint it with watercolor, mat it, and send it back to you all ready to frame.

Gadora Other Chihuahua

So here’s how to get your shot at this week’s prize:

  • PRIZE: One 8×10 custom watercolor of your pet (or any other still life) by Gadora Wilder
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WATERCOLOR THIS!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what pet photo or still life you’d love to have rendered as a painting. An especially cute pic of your feline snuggled in bed? A goofy photo of your pup in the snow? Or that favorite cozy corner of your living room? Feel free to include a link or post the pic over on our Facebook page too.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, May 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: ONE
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This prize ships anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I would love to have a painting of the two crazy pups in my life: Duke the Great Dane (he thinks he is very tiny) and Jersey the chocolate/weimaraner mix.

They are 2 Peas in a Pod :)

    Watercolor this!

An up-close head shot of our 8 year old golden retriever, Blaze. (I realize his name makes him sound like a bit of a big, dumb, blond (American Gladiator, perhaps?) but he’s really more of the regal, sleek, dark red gentleman type. Throw in a few grays for sophistication. We adore him.) The photo is one of my favorite beacuse it catches the puppy spark in his old eyes.

I actually started welling up when I saw the painting of Burger. I had to put my cat, Miles, to sleep last week. My husband and I were never cat people…EVER! And then he got deployed to Bosnia in ’96 when we were living in Germany and a friend talked me into adopting Miles. He and I have been serious buddies ever since. It has been a sad week and I have started going through my pics to find one to enlarge and frame but this would be an amazing tribute to Mr. Miles.

    Thanks for another great giveaway!

WATER COLOR THIS! My golden retriever who has been my constant companion for the past five and a half years. As a child I was not allowed to have a dog so when I moved off campus my second year of college I immediately started searching for a furry friend. Rielly is really an exceptional canine and turned my husband of one year into a dog person against all odds.
