Fab Freebie: A Wilder Watercolor

About six months ago, this charming watercolor painting of Burger showed up as a surprise Christmas present in our mailbox. Ain’t he cute?

Fast forward to the present day. The thoughtful artist, Gadora Wilder (the snappy alter ego of Stephanie Lewis) is back to offer up a fun YHL giveaway. Which means one of you will score an artistic still life of your very own canine, cat, canary, chameleon or even chair (yes, Gadora does pets and still lifes a plenty)!  That way you can capture your favorite furry friend or proudest decorating decision as one-of-a-kind artwork.

Based on a photo you submit, she’ll digitally enhance it, print it on watercolor paper, over-paint it with watercolor, mat it, and send it back to you all ready to frame.

So here’s how to get your shot at this week’s prize:

  • PRIZE: One 8×10 custom watercolor of your pet (or any other still life) by Gadora Wilder

  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what pet photo or still life you’d love to have rendered as a painting. An especially cute pic of your feline snuggled in bed? A goofy photo of your pup in the snow? Or that favorite cozy corner of your living room? Feel free to include a link or post the pic over on our Facebook page too.

    WATERCOLOR THIS!

    Although my favorite picture of our Springer Spaniel, Marley, is one where he’s a pudgy pup the day we got him, giving the camera a nasty “stink eye” (SO.CUTE.), since we’ve already got multiples of that print (in our kitchen, at each of our offices), we’d like a watercolor of him in all his playful adolescence now, at 1 1/2 years old!

    WATERCOLOR THIS! I would love to find a photo with BOTH my dogs, but if that didn’t work out (one is really camera shy) then I’d maybe go with the picture of Elvis with spaghetti all over his muzzle!

    I would love to have a watercolor of my two fur babies, Oscar (shi-pug)and Nikko (pomeranian). They love spending time with each other and to be captured on canvas would be awesome. Especially to hang in my twin girls nursery! :)

    I have a great picture of our 8 lb. female cat name Coco Chanel, throwing a haymaker at our 17 lb male cat named MJ (for Michael Jordan). The picture is hysterical and it would make a really funny piece of art!

    My very handsome Sable Cocker Spaniel Rocket would be ever so proud to have his portrait hanging in the living room. He has AMAZING long eyelashes, and a the most puppydog eyes any puppydog ever gazed at anyone with!
    And, he was a rescue.. found in a park in SC with his equally handsome brother.
    His bro got adopted by someone else though.

    My two pooches are brothers from different mothers but they definitely play/wrestle/and snuggle like real brothers. We’d love to have our maltese and min-pin/chihuahua in watercolor! Since we don’t have kids yet – they are truly our babies.

    I have been waiting for this for soooo long! I would definitely have a portrait of my fish!

    I have a huge aquarium set up in our dining room and I have been having tons of trouble decorating around that huge thing. I think having a big portrait of the fish would help!

    WATERCOLOR THIS! LOVE this giveaway…esp since my birthday is on sat. and this encompasses 2 of my fav things–my dog Roxie and ART! I have the cutest picture of my then 3-year-old pup (she’ll always be my baby)taken right after I caught her digging up the backyard–she has the cutest look with deer-in-headlights eyes, and mud-nose–picture perfect!

    Watercolor this! I would pick a beautiful picture of the front of my house. Its where all the love lives that fills my life, which includes my husband, 3 yr old daughter, my 2 cats, 2 parakeets a fish and hermit crab. I never want to forget where my family started laying down our roots. Even when we move away from casa duke street.

    my house and front garden in spring bloom. I love to see homes with painings of their homes (or other unusual mediums) hanging in the house when you visit. It’s also a great way to take your home with you when you move.
