Fab Freebie: A Wilder Watercolor

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

About six months ago, this charming watercolor painting of Burger showed up as a surprise Christmas present in our mailbox. Ain’t he cute?

Gadora Burger

Fast forward to the present day. The thoughtful artist, Gadora Wilder (the snappy alter ego of Stephanie Lewis) is back to offer up a fun YHL giveaway. Which means one of you will score an artistic still life of your very own canine, cat, canary, chameleon or even chair (yes, Gadora does pets and still lifes a plenty)!  That way you can capture your favorite furry friend or proudest decorating decision as one-of-a-kind artwork.

Gadora Sette2

Based on a photo you submit, she’ll digitally enhance it, print it on watercolor paper, over-paint it with watercolor, mat it, and send it back to you all ready to frame.

Gadora Other Chihuahua

So here’s how to get your shot at this week’s prize:

  • PRIZE: One 8×10 custom watercolor of your pet (or any other still life) by Gadora Wilder
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WATERCOLOR THIS!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what pet photo or still life you’d love to have rendered as a painting. An especially cute pic of your feline snuggled in bed? A goofy photo of your pup in the snow? Or that favorite cozy corner of your living room? Feel free to include a link or post the pic over on our Facebook page too.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, May 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: ONE
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This prize ships anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Would love to have a portrait made of my son’s cat, Marble. She currently lives with us while he is in college and I know he really misses her! She is 12 years old with an attitude!

We have a 3-1/2 year old labradinger (chocolate lab + springer spaniel) named Murphy who has been posing recently ever so cutely in green groundcover with purple flowers, a stick at paw’s length. He’s quite photogenic!

Watercolor this! My sweet, stubborn, devoted little dog Piglet found me in college when I answered an ad about a rescued dog needing a home who “look[ed] like a cross between a Chihuahua and a German Shepherd, and answer[ed] to the name Piglet.” That was that. I battled roommates and family to make her mine, and she was with me from college, through graduate school, first and following jobs, four states and SEVEN homes. Piggy predated my husband and two children. She was my first baby, and she died at the amazing age of 16.5 just under a year ago. I have a picture of her wearing angel wings at Christmas, stretched out on the rug on her belly with legs fully extended behind her (a signature Piglet pose). I would be delighted and honored to have her memorialized in watercolor by Gadora Wilder.

I’d love to see a watercolor of our black lab mix, Vida. She has a precious red beard and long eyebrows. I have a cute picture of her with her legs crossed gazing out the window. I think it would be adorable in our nursery that we are decorating now!

WATERCOLOR THIS!…and I would love to have a picture of my cat, Oliver, watercolored. I found him, abandoned, before he even had his eyes open, so of course I’m his mom now! I’m a grad student, and he loves to lay on/sleep on/chew on my books, so I have some great pictures of that.

And, that picture of Burger is super cute.
