Fab Freebie: A Wilder Watercolor

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

About six months ago, this charming watercolor painting of Burger showed up as a surprise Christmas present in our mailbox. Ain’t he cute?

Gadora Burger

Fast forward to the present day. The thoughtful artist, Gadora Wilder (the snappy alter ego of Stephanie Lewis) is back to offer up a fun YHL giveaway. Which means one of you will score an artistic still life of your very own canine, cat, canary, chameleon or even chair (yes, Gadora does pets and still lifes a plenty)!  That way you can capture your favorite furry friend or proudest decorating decision as one-of-a-kind artwork.

Gadora Sette2

Based on a photo you submit, she’ll digitally enhance it, print it on watercolor paper, over-paint it with watercolor, mat it, and send it back to you all ready to frame.

Gadora Other Chihuahua

So here’s how to get your shot at this week’s prize:

  • PRIZE: One 8×10 custom watercolor of your pet (or any other still life) by Gadora Wilder
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WATERCOLOR THIS!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what pet photo or still life you’d love to have rendered as a painting. An especially cute pic of your feline snuggled in bed? A goofy photo of your pup in the snow? Or that favorite cozy corner of your living room? Feel free to include a link or post the pic over on our Facebook page too.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, May 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: ONE
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This prize ships anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We have a 1 year old Cavalier King Charles who has only one spot over his eye. Traditionally, Cavaliers have a spot over each eye, however, given his darling appearance, it makes it impossible to find any Cavalier art of his likeness! We have a cute picture of him in a field of buttercups taken just last week.

WATERCOLOR THIS!!! The Hubby and I currently have 4 furry babies. (3 dogs and a cat) The oldest of our pups is surprisingly very similar to Burger in the looks department. I think ours, Paco aka Face (long story), might just be a tad more pathetic though. I’ll be sure to post a pic on your facebook this week.

Oh my goodness! My husband adored our cat William (and adored is an understatement!). Well William got very sick last year and right before our daughter was born we had to put him to sleep. My husband has been asking for a portrait of William ever since (I am a figurative artist and have told him countless times that I just can’t paint felines, and it would be a horrid rendition if I tried). He still asks for a portrait of William and this would be an amazing father’s day surprise! I would be honored to have this amazing artist paint a portrait of our cat William.

    Thank’s for the chance!

I have a picture I took of my yellow lab this past year during goose season (he hunts with me). He looks so serious and noble and the camo vest he wears makes him look all that much cooler. MY wife says I love him more than the kids. That couldn’t be right…could it?
