Fab Freebie: A Taste Of India

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We’d heard of the “slow food movement” before, but not the “slow clothes movement” – until this week’s giveaway sponsor reached out to us. Saffron Marigold creates luxury Indian linens, and they make each tablecloth, bedspread, curtain and pillow cover very meticulously (both to safeguard traditional techniques and deliver a high quality finished product). Just think, all of these patterns have been meticulously hand-printed inch-by-inch using traditional woodblock techniques in Saffron Marigold’s Indian artisan studios. Pretty fantastic, eh?

Saffron Table Cloths

And this week TWO of you are going to have a chance to enjoy TWO pieces of these slowly and beautifully made linens in your home. Each winner will get their choice of a lovely tablecloth or table runner…

Saffron Table Runners

…and their choice of a gorgeous and graphic cushion cover.

Saffron Cushion Covers

And while you’re over on their site browsing their stunning designs, be sure to check out the photo slideshow of their time-intensive process which details how they create all the unbelievably intricate patterns. It will truly give you an appreciation for the craftsmanship that went into these prizes. And you’ll also soon get to appreciate a sweet discount they’re dishing out (stay tuned for those details on Thursday).

Saffron Process

So here’s the gist:

  • PRIZE: Your choice of any  tablecloth or table runner from Saffron Marigold, plus one cushion cover.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MARIGOLD ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us something that you feel is always better when you take your time. Maybe you agree with the slow food or slow clothes movement? Or you prefer to give lots of time to painting or a DIY project? Perhaps you’re just a slow and very careful driver?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 9nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the WORLD!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I really feel anything will turn out better if you take time to ensure it’s what you really want. Such as finding the perfecting bedding, or ensuring that dinner will turn out just the way it did the last time you made it. And of course eating, always take your time eating, because you’ll get indigestion! Haha. Seriously though, I’m such a slow eater.

I always try to speak slowly, especially when I am angry. I try to take my time, to figure out what is actually bothering me before I talk about it. Because if I rush it, I always regret it (just ask my husband).

i think it’s important to take your time when decorating your home. a room that is thrown together over night is no good at all. it’s so much better to develop it over time.

Marigold Me! I try to be mindful and take my time always (I know that sounds like a copout) but life is so much better when you stop to enjoy it instead of rushing through to the “next thing”. I especially love witnessing the science of baking, and how it all comes together, so if I have to pick something it would be that.

Yoga is always better when I take my time. I’m a yoga video devotee, and there are, admittedly, days when I don’t have the motivation to exercise. Other days I don’t feel like taking the time to slow down and just breathe or I tell myself I won’t have the patience to do it. But, in the end, mind and body perform better when I do take my time.

I am a painter, and I find that my paintings generally look better when I take my time. Each painting is composed of many, many layers. As you would expect, it helps to let the paint dry between layers which makes the process very slow, but rewarding!
