Fab Freebie: A Taste Of India

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We’d heard of the “slow food movement” before, but not the “slow clothes movement” – until this week’s giveaway sponsor reached out to us. Saffron Marigold creates luxury Indian linens, and they make each tablecloth, bedspread, curtain and pillow cover very meticulously (both to safeguard traditional techniques and deliver a high quality finished product). Just think, all of these patterns have been meticulously hand-printed inch-by-inch using traditional woodblock techniques in Saffron Marigold’s Indian artisan studios. Pretty fantastic, eh?

Saffron Table Cloths

And this week TWO of you are going to have a chance to enjoy TWO pieces of these slowly and beautifully made linens in your home. Each winner will get their choice of a lovely tablecloth or table runner…

Saffron Table Runners

…and their choice of a gorgeous and graphic cushion cover.

Saffron Cushion Covers

And while you’re over on their site browsing their stunning designs, be sure to check out the photo slideshow of their time-intensive process which details how they create all the unbelievably intricate patterns. It will truly give you an appreciation for the craftsmanship that went into these prizes. And you’ll also soon get to appreciate a sweet discount they’re dishing out (stay tuned for those details on Thursday).

Saffron Process

So here’s the gist:

  • PRIZE: Your choice of any  tablecloth or table runner from Saffron Marigold, plus one cushion cover.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MARIGOLD ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us something that you feel is always better when you take your time. Maybe you agree with the slow food or slow clothes movement? Or you prefer to give lots of time to painting or a DIY project? Perhaps you’re just a slow and very careful driver?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 9nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the WORLD!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Marigold me!

I enjoy sewing by hand slowly. Embroidered everything… wall hangings, holiday decorations, pillow cases, etc. So slow linens are right up my alley!

    What a beautiful giveaway.

Life… though I am not attempting a transcendence moment. Just that there are moments that are so enjoyable when you’re able to slow down and appreciate them for the beauty they contain.

I’m going to go with the food thing on this: Whenever the man and I take the time to make our own bread, grow our own veggies, it makes me feel better about what I am doing for the earth and what I’m putting in my body! Not only that, a meat sauce for pasta slowly simmering on the stove all day…MMMMMMMMmmmmmmm that’s what we like to take our time with. :)

My son just turned two and one of the things I am so happy I was able to instill was simply slowing down. Living in this moment. Every evening he now asks me to sit on the stoop outside. Even when I am tired he drags me by my hand and I am happier for it.

I’m a slow traveler – my favorite way to see a place is by getting lost on foot, and when we travel, we don’t just visit but usually end up living somewhere for about a year before moving on! It’s the best way to really get to know a place! DC; Nice, France; Prague, CZRep; Baltimore; Taipei, TW; & St. Thomas, USVI so far and many more to come!

I always eat my ice cream slow. I always order it in a cup–I don’t like to race to stay a step ahead of the melting of a cone.

In fact, anything sweet is better taken slowly.

(Thank you for this fab freebie; everything on the Saffrom Marigold site is BEAUtiful, and so it’s great to hear about their company, not to mention the possibility to win something!)

I think cooking is better when you take your time. I don’t think I probably qualify for the slow food movement, but dinner is more satisfying when my husband and I have cooked it ourselves and successfully tried something new, even if we’re eating a little late!
