Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

FAB ME! I love some yellowy green, turquoise and orange pillows that I made for our sofa. So bright and happy! I also love a painting of a chicken that I painted at DC’s Living Social wine and painting class. I had no idea I could paint, let alone a chicken so it makes me happy!

FAB ME! I have a bright blue front door, which I love. And as far as quirky, our dining room curtains are hung by strings and thumbtacks, while I wait for my husband to finish making brackets.

    Fab me!

He’s not out now, but in the autumn I have a small turkey figurine that sits on my counter next to my knife block and “watches” me cook. It’s my little piece of ironic humor during my favorite time of the year :o)

    Fab me!

I found a spoon rest (or a small plate, either one) at a thrift sale for $0.50 that says “Ours is a strange and wonderful relationship,” showing an elephant and a small bird. Gave it to my boyfriend as a gift and it makes me smile every time I see it!

FAB ME! Everything we currently own is a hand me down. Not that anything is wrong with that! So you could say our whole house is a little quirky. Can’t wait until we can save up to buy our own brand of quirky.

Fab me! My current favorite quirky thing is the red curtain with bold patterned white and blues making swirls and modern flowers I put up in my kitchen window. That favorite thing changes from time to time and I have my eyes on a birdy bank I saw yesterday. I hope it comes in a color to match my curtain. ;-)

    Fab Me!
Before we were married, my husband bought this recliner – made of “buckhide” leather – very bachelor pad and one of only two things he has from those days. It has become a cherished chair, because it is what I used to rock both our babies to bed in; where I slept while holding them the first week home from the hospital. So, while it is hideous to look at, it is ultra comfy and a quirky addition to our house.

We have a green vintage tufted armchair that we scored off Craig’s list! It’s really comfy, and I love the character it adds to our living room. Unfortunately, it needs to be re-upholstered due to the previous owner’s cat clawing the heck out of the back. :(

Not quirky, but I love a Monet print ‘Waterlilies” that my mom bought for me when I first moved out on my own. I used to keep it above my bed but now it is in our guestroom (hubby wasn’t as big of a fan of a purple room… go figure.) But I would love to FAB up my house with some quirk! ;-)
