Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

    FAB ME!!

The framed, black and white, newsprint pinup girl we found in the walls when we renovated our house. It hangs in the powder room. A little surprise for our guests!

We have a big white moose head (from Z Gallery) right above our couch in our living room. We love it. Some guests love it, others hate it. It’s definitely a conversation piece.

It’s a toss-up between my still-growing elephant collection (two hand-carved wood ones and a Colour-Me-Mine teal paisley elephant piggy bank I made on a very fun date), or the set of vintage postcards I bought in Morocco.

FAB ME! I have this lamp that was given to me many many moons ago that has a white base with a black and white cow print shade. It doesn’t necessarily go with anything else in the house but I love it! I moo-ve (ha!) it around from time to time and it just makes me happy.

FAB ME! I have a cow-shaped cutting board next to a pig cookie jar in my kitchen. Aside from them both being barnyard animals, they do not go together whatsoever. The cutting board is rough and rustic while the cookie jar is sweet and shiny, but I love them both and firmly believe in using what you have and love instead of only using stuff that happens to look stunning.

    FAB ME!

We are still trying to personalize our home. Right now the most unique would have to be the mural painted on our patio walls which actually came with the house. Last year we had to fix up a lot of things, this year is te year to make it ours.

FAB ME! I recently inherited the family “holiday camel” which the rest of the family thinks is hideous but for some reason he shows up at every holiday gathering. I’m the only one who appreciated his droopy eyes, crazy embroidered fabric and the stamp indicating he is from Bahrain. He’s all mine now and the rest of the family is secretly jealous.I display him proudly in my dining room and he’s quite the conversation starter :)

I hung two old, red letter O’s I found at an antique shop and painted eye balls on them. If you’re standing at my back door they’re right in front of you. (the only problem is that they’ve been mistaken for toilet seats).

FAB ME! I have a large, colorful, exquisite painting my parents got in India in the early 1970s. It is of the Hindu deity Krishna with a bunch of cows and maidens around a pond on a starry night. It hangs in our entryway, and everyone always comments upon it when they first see it. I love it!

It isn’t really weird, but I have my grandfather’s banjo hanging in the living room. I wanted one thing to remind me of each of my grandparents, and other than his lunch box (which was long gone), this was what I wanted. Maybe one of these days I’ll take up playing it but for right now, just seeing it in the room helps remind me of him and lots of hours spent listening to him play.

FAB ME! I have a garden gnome with the word “Boss” written on it. It’s weird and not very cute, but I found it sitting by a telephone pole on the land that was once my grandparent’s farm and house. Now that both of them are gone that weird, little Boss gnome has even more meaning.
