Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

FAB ME! Oomph. I have a good one — we had someone come and install a very large vinyl decal on the door that leads from our house to our garage. It says “GARAGE” in bright orange, stacked letters, and pretty much covers the entire door. When people come over and we show them around our house we say “And that’s our garage … obviously.” Our respective parents think that we are nuts.

FAB ME! The quirkiest item in my house might be the painted miniature pirogue that our real estate agent gave us after we closed on our home. It looks cool on the bookshelf in our family room.

    FAB ME!

I have a suitcase table that I thrifted for my birthday last year. It looks perfect in my living room! I also have an obsession with peacock feathers- I have curtains, paintings, pillows, candles, etc. I even have a peacock painted in the likeness of Rod Stewart (my favorite musician of all time). Needless to say- I love my house.

Fab Me! My whole house could be a little quirky since we built a log home. But my favorite colorful/quirky piece of furniture is our coffee table, which my husband picked out for me one Christmas. It’s built of salvaged wood and has the original barn paint on some parts, and the top is an old door.

FAB ME! I have several pieces of artwork, which at first glance, appear to be abstract photographs of nature. A closer look however reveals that each has a nude woman incorporated into it. My son’s friends got a kick out of them when they were young!

Fab me! I’ve got three large panels of brightly printed cloth hanging in my dining room to reflect the West African heritage of my ex and my children. They do NOT go with the soothing greens and blues through the rest of my house, but I love them anyway. Bonus? I DIYed them :)

Fab me! My favorite pop of color would be our living room walls. They are bright turquoise. We inherited burgundy carpet from the previous owners, so the only wall color that seemed to work was tan. After we had more neutral carpet installed, I went crazy with wall colors!

Oddly enough, the weird and quirky thing in our house (or, at least the ONE thing that comes to mind) is an old pose-able action-figure of “The Fanze” from Happy Days, who is, for some reason, wearing an Elvis costume…not original to the action-figure. It’s so random and fun that we keep him on display.

Fab Me! I have a stuffed koala bear lamp sitting on my desk. It was the lamp that my parents put in both my sister’s nursery and mine when we were babies. It is from like 1980, but I absolutely love it and couldn’t part with it. For now it has a plain shade but I hope to recover it when the right inspiration strikes! :)

My quirky item is a stain glass window made from an old farmhouse window by a local artist…that I have hanging on a wall. I don’t have a window appropriate to hang it in but I loved it so I had to get it and HAD to hang it somewhere and it actually looks great on the wall!
