Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

Fab me!! Colorful and quirky are all over my house but my most favorite piece is my chartreuse recliner in the living room. It’s retro and so perfect.

    FAB ME!

Our house is painted in all neutral colors except for our “Golden Gate Bridge Orange” guest bath… it reminds me of our 4+ years spent living in the Bay Area before moving back East! (And ironically I didn’t intentionally pick the color to match the GGB… my dad pointed it out 2 months later when he gifted us with some of his photos of the bridge because they matched the wall color perfectly!)

FAB ME! There’s a psychedelic rooster painting hanging in our living room. My husband bought it for $3 at Goodwill as a joke a few days after I had been eyeing (subdued, neutral, non-psychedelic) rooster art at JoAnn’s. It doesn’t fit our house at all, but it’s been on the living room wall for more than a year now :)

My favorite “quirky” thing is a vintage concrete squirrel in our living room. He tends to move around a bit, and somethings he scares people when they only see him out of the corner of their eye (he does look frightfully real…). We should really get him a name now that I think of it!

FAB ME! My quirk is of the color variety. I painted the foyer of our tri-level a fiery deep cayenne orange-red (tibetan orange). This area presented many design challenges: a small footprint, two exterior doors on adjacent walls, a closet with bifold doors, vaulted ceilings, and open and viewable from several other rooms in all levels of the house… We ripped out the ugly bifolds, and added an old church pew (thrifted) as a bench with storage baskets underneath. Coupled with minimal furniture, the color makes a statement and looks great with big greige tiles and white trim.

I haven’t decorated much, so there isn’t anything that weird or quirky. I do have two ceramic statues on an endtable. One is a thank you I got from a place I volunteered a lot and the other is a statue from my Grandmother’s house that is based on my favorite piece of art in her house.

    FAB ME!!

My living room coffee table is a hand-me-down from my grandparents that I hope to keep in the family as long as it lasts–it’s an old drum (maybe from a marching band? I should probably get more info)…it’s red, and there’s a crest painted in the middle of the drum (which now in it’s new life, is the center of our table)…I love it for nostalgic reasons, and mostly everyone thinks its cool/quirky. My bf on the other hands hates it and plots it’s demise daily … oy ;)
