I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

FAB ME!!! It’s outside our front door but we have a 5 foot metal rooster that’s all different colors and a 3 foot metal peacock. Inside we have a blue rug in the living room and a green rug in the dining area.

The quirkiest thing in my home is a tradition with my parents from back when cameras had film–remember when. . .
The last picture on a roll of film was usually just burned on something mundane so that you could get the roll developed. In my house, with this last frame, we took pictures of the fridge. Then when we got the prints, we’d put the picture of the fridge on the fridge and create infinite fridge situation.
My fridge has a picture of my parents’ fridge. I love it. I point it out to everyone getting a glass of water. MY fridge knows its roots.

In our neutral living room/office area (think soft grey brown walls), we have a gorgeous oil painting of our mini schnauzer that is riot with color (think pop art style). I LOVE it and it so captures our girl perfectly!

our entire house is filled with quirk, although we just call it “normal” over here. I’d say the most quirky things are the front hall, which is painted zebra stripes, and a tiny bust of George Washington, which also sits in the front hall. Also, we’re a little too excited for the grumpy cat pillow that should arrive in the mail sometime this week… :)
