I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

My favorite piece of art in my house is a painting of Times Square at night done by a close friend of mine…. the canvas is black, and every bit of light is painted in. love it!

My favorite colorful accessory is my housewarming present to myself. It’s a print that says “don’t forget to be awesome” in lots of bright colors. I love seeing it first when I walk in the door!

Well currently the majority of our stuff is in storage while we stay with my mom during this transition. But right now I have a very luscious, deep blue poinsettia on the porch I snagged at Michael’s to go with my Winter theme.

My house is infested with owls! So many that is now nicknamed The Owl Lounge. I don’t know how it all started, but places like TJ Maxx, Marshal’s and Ross are not helping because every time I walk in, I am greeted with ceramic or glass owls <3

Our living room, we painted it a bright orange! We added African animal figurines, and a large houseplant – we love how the green plays against the orange hue. We also framed black and white personal photos, and they pop beautifully against our lovely wall. Oh FAB ME!!

FAB ME! The quirkiest thing I have in my home is the huge superman posters in my kitchen. My husband is a huge fan and we’ve decorated our entire kitchen and dining room with movie posters and memorabilia.

We have a green coffee table in our living room, which I love. A housemate’s friend was going to throw it away, but offered it to us instead, and it’s a great table.
Something that would’ve been a little quirkier, though, was this incredible bright blue birdcage (on a stand – about 4ft high) that I almost bought at a garage sale once. Sadly, it was a little out of my budget, but was the coolest thing.

We have a pillow on our couch that has a bulldog on it that looks just like ours. It caught my eye as I was walking by a store in the mall shortly after we’d brought him home… and I was shocked that it looked just like him, even down to the spot on the top of his head.
