I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

FAB ME! One quirky thing in our house are these wooden ducks that my sister brought back from Korea. They are “traditional wedding ducks” and there’s a story that came with the ducks that explains that the lady duck’s mouth is tied closed with a ribbon to keep her from nagging the husband duck. Offensive, yet kinda funny.

We have a giraffe carving that we got on our first trip to Jamaica three years ago. Giraffes are my favorite and I just love it. I also have a (slight) obsession with the color orange, and one of the lamps in our living room (a Home Goods find!) has an orange shade. And it casts a warm orange hue when the light’s turned on. I likey.

I moved to Nashville in 2009, and have begun collecting weird/funky local art. I have three pieces so far, but my favorite is a funny comic/print of a monster by Pope Saint Victor (it’s this one: http://society6.com/PopeSaintVictor/I-Think-I-Ate-Your-boat_Print). FAB ME!! I love our gum ball machine filled with faux limes. With two small children, it needed to be filled with something that couldn’t actually be dispensed (and choked on). Plus, the limes are a great pop of color alongside the bright red of the gum ball machine.
