Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

    This isn’t all THAT weird, but we built shelves in my fiance’s office to house our enormous board game and LEGO collections. Luckily they aren’t full and we have room to grow!

    I just painted our ugly 1968 bath cabinet a bright fire engine red – with teal blue walls…big risk, but, LOVE!

    Fab Me! My father-in-law was an artist & I have quirky self-portrait of him that is blue and includes a bird’s head.

    FAB ME! I’d say the quirkiest thing in our house is a painting of “The Dude” from the Big Lebowski done by a friend of ours. It’s definitely a conversation piece!

    FAB ME! My favorite piece in my living room is a needlepoint my best friend made me that says “You make me wanna shoop!” My favorite Karaoke song. A$hdog represent.

    FAB ME! I love to do wood carvings so, we have our share of them spread out all over the house… A stylized penguin, Winnie-the-Pooh with his head in the “hunny” pot, a bird in flight, etc. They add a bit of whimsy to an adult household!

    FAB ME!

    My favorite funky piece is this awesome painting that my husband’s Grandmother did. It is an abstract oil of two people at a costume party. It is really striking in person and has a great family tie in :-)

    FAB ME! We have a bold rug in our family room that I love. It was a complete accident though – I ordered it online and thought it was more neutral, but the color were way bolder in person. I never would’ve pulled the trigger if I saw it first!

    FAB ME! Our house is a major work-in-progress, but our family room is super colorful! Light blue walls, a red couch, a grey dresser, and a yellow and tan armchair. Sounds insane, but we get a lot of compliments!

    FAB ME! We have a very interesting lamp that’s been handed down from my husband’s side of the family for generations. IT’s been named the “whore lamp”. Wish I could attach a pic right now :)

    FAB ME! I have a recent obsession with owls that I didn’t even notice until my husband pointed it out to me! I had purchased all these kitschy odes to the owl so far apart and put them in different rooms that I didn’t realize I had an addiction. (A ridiculously good looking addiction)

    I have a nude charcoal drawing that was given to me years ago when I first moved out on my own. The funniest thing about it is that the first time my grandmother came to visit she said that it lloks just like me! (not me, embarrassing none-the-less)

    I have a bright green print in my kitchen of a Kitchenaid mixer that says “You spin me right round baby” and I just love it! Always makes me smile.

    “FAB ME!” We have the most amazing rich, deep red natuzzi leather chair in our living room. I love seeing the sun on it. I love catching a glimpse of it across the room. Oh, wouldn’t some chevron pillows from FAB on the sofa look awesome, too.

    One of my most favorite items in my house is my robot cookie jar. It makes me smile every time I walk into my kitchen. With a sweet name like R2-SweetTooth, how could you not love stealing cookies from him? (also, he’s totally a Fab purchase)

    My favorite “quirky” thing in our apartment is all of our Nantucket knick-knacks. We went to Nantucket for our honeymoon so they are all sentimental!

    We just bought our first home so I look forward to adding even more now that we have more space!

    FAB ME!

    In our living room we have a big, beautiful close up original antique black and white photo of a Native American/Indian chief. It’s full of detail and we just love it.

    It was found in the basement of my husbands distant aunt and we were fortunate enough to inherit it along with some tupperware and muffin tins!
