Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

My husband and I have a full size NY MTA replica sign from our station in Brooklyn where we lived during our year long engagement. The fantastic contrast of the orange, black and white set the tone for our current living room in the home we bought in Cleveland, OH and it holds such great memories. The stop? Myrtle JMZ… Bushwick love!

FAB ME!! One of the quirkiest things in our house that I just LOVE it the enormous Jackson Pollock-esque painting over our fireplace by my husband. He painted it over 21 years ago and I still find new things when I look at it.

Fab me!!! The boldest and coolest thing in our little home is the half wall that decides the kitchen and dining painted all in chalkboard. It’s awesome. Kids get to play with it daily. We do abcs, math etc. When we have guests we write cool welcoming messages, the menu, date, and make them contribute to the art as well. We take a picture at the end and boom instant memory.

    FAB ME!

I’m currently living in student housing, so there aren’t many fun things around me, but I guess my favourite decoration item currently is the Doctor Who print I have hanging. It’s meant to look like a Van Gogh, so unless someone KNOWS where it’s from, people just assume I have great taste in art!

Fab Me! I would have to say the quirky and colourful item in our house is a paiting of birds flying over bight blue water. It isn’t overly attractive, but a friend’s (talented) mom painted it and they gave it to us as a wedding gift. We felt like we needed to put it somewhere, but didn’t care for it. So we chose to hang it on the wall that only we see when we come down the stairs. That way is was up, but not overly visible. Now though, our little toddler always says “tweet tweet” to the birdies in the morning, so it’s become a favourite part of our day. Funny how life goes!

My favourite item at the moment is a silver dimpled jar that I bought at TK Maxx. It was a bit of a panic buy as I had a gift card to use, and about 10 mins left of my lunch break. I thought it was ok when I bought it, but now I love it. Definitely a grower.

FAB ME! The most unique thing in our home is a piece of art that I painted several years ago. I get comments all the time on how much people like it and then when they find out I painted it they are so surprised! I’m beginning to wonder if I should be offended! Haha!

My boyfriend grumbled about them for about a week and I’m still forbidden to replace the other knobs in the bathroom:( But I think they are fun and happy:)

Our house is mostly muted natural tones, but I convinced the hubby to paint the kitchen walls a pale yellow. So far, we’ve just hung the paint swatches around the walls…and then left it them were nearly 6 months. But once we make a decision and paint, then I think that will be the most fab place in the house!
