Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

FAB ME! I love my bright red and teal print from etsy that says “Today I will be happier than a bird with a French fry.” It’s a great reminder to wake up to every morning!

    FAB ME!

It’s not something purchased, but something made. A bright blue wall with the world painted on using magnet and chalkboard paint. I’ve said a million times I would paint my whole world that color!

FAB ME! The quirkest thing in our home would be the kids peanut ball that is known to hang in all rooms of our house. It is bright blue and can hold all three kids at once. I am still trying to figure away to incorporate it into the decorating scheme since we are still in the infancy of making home “home”.

Fab me. I have an old leather chair I got from an estate sale. It is from the fifties. It iis beat up and my mother-in-law hates it but I love it. It is so comfy and built like a rock and I think about the old professor who used to own it and probably sat in it to read books just like me!

hmmm. my husband (i think in a misguided attempt to make me feel at home) bought a seriously creepy fake cat for our first home together. it was one of those things where it looked like the animal was sleeping peacefully and i’d catch it out of the corner of my eye and freak out constantly. did i mention that it was made of some sort of real fur?

mr creepy fake cat finally lost a limb this past year and thus i was given permission to throw him out in our recent move and THAT? that was fab.

Fab me! I have these awesome paintings by a local artist called “the chicken man” that are on pieces off old wood and he paints chickens and Palmetto trees. Some may not appreciate the artwork, but it’s a local thing and I love it!

Fab Me! The quirkiest thing in my home is this weird partially stuffed fabric print of a cockatoo I found at the goodwill. It’s in muted, pastel colors and it’s so strange but I love it. Speaking of love, fab is the best and I would be over the moon if I won.

FAB ME! A hexagon floor file rescued from a dumpster when my college were renovating. The whole place was made out of hexagons…really, and we called the tiled entry way “the cobbles”…and then some mean guy tore up the cobbles and put down Lino. So I took a cobble from the dumpster! I love it.

    FAB ME!
I’ve been in an awesome old house for a little over 2 years and I tend to get antsy. Ill start tearing at wall paper or painting something. One day I curiously lifted the carpet in a rarely used second living room and I was excited to see that it was in beautiful condition. So I single-handedly rolled the literal ton of carpet. When I got to the two doorways on the other side of the room There were two huge patches taken out of the floor and I was left with giant plywood “runners”. I didn’t want to put the carpet back down so I decided to paint colorful patterned “rugs” on the patches thinking that would be easier to look at until I can recover the floor. Now I kind of love them!

FAB ME! Probably one of the quirkiest things we have is also the most colorful. It’s a 8’x4′ canvas painted by my cousin. It’s an enlargement of Picasso’s old man with a guitar painting. We have it above our fireplace in our great room. It’s different but we love it.
