As a huge supporter and advocate (as well as loving owner) of purebred pekingese dogs I have to say that your pekingese actually more closely resembles a tibetan spaniel. Many people confuse tibetan spaniels for pekingese, but a purebred pekingese does look different.

Thanks for weighing in with some pekingese expertise. We actually created the portrait above with a submitted image of a reader’s purebred pekingese so we hope that it does represent at least a few pekingese pups out there since it was created from one! Isn’t it funny how certain breeds can vary so much? For example our chihuahua is about five inches taller than most other purebreds and his nose is much longer and less squat. Of course we think it’s what makes him so special (among other things). Gotta love diversity- even in the animal kingdom!
