You don’t typically think of chemistry students writing home design books, but then we learned one of Sherry’s brother’s old classmates at Columbia wrote “Good Bones, Great Pieces” with her mother. It’s a beautiful book about how to combine seven essential elements, er, pieces of furniture in any room for a stunning result – and they’ve got a blog with even more eye candy too.

“Furnish Me!” I have many pieces that mean a lot to us. Two in particular are a Pine Hutch made of old barn board my husband bought me for our Anniversary one year. It was made by hand by a furniture company near where we lived. One other is a Teal painted Buffet our youngest daughter and her husband gave to us as a house warming gift when we moved to Texas. We have several antique pieces of furniture that have been passed down in our family that are pretty cool, but what I’m most proud of is that my husband and I just invested in a King size bed (and new bedroom suite)!
