I have no tattoo. I have thought about wanting one, but I never felt sure enough about either a design or a location to make the commitment. So now that I’m getting on towards 30, I think it’s very unlikely that I’ll ever get one. Maybe as part of a mid-life crisis in 15 years…

I have 3, one I got when I turned 18 a little dolphin on my hip, the second I designed myself, its around my ankle and is oak leaves and vine from spring green to autumn yellow, orange, and red with two acorns (the circle of life). The Oak tree is the symbol of strength and it was to give me strength at a time when I had none I was 23. The third is on my lower back, well more on the top of each but cheek and they are my husbands thumb prints (way more of a commitment then just a signed piece of paper) I was 30.

Ha ha, even at the ripe old age of 46, I will never tell or show my parents about the tat on the back of my neck. Gets tricky in warm weather, tho! I have the word ‘love’ in ancient mongolian script. Really pretty and curvy in hot pink ink. Love it. It is a match to one on Dh’s arm.

TATTOO ME! I have several tattoos. One is a plain black rectangle on my left forearm, another are my brothers’ initials surrounded by an anchor on my left.. love handle? Waist? And the third is on the inside of my right bicep: a black broken heart (my parents divorce), a red heart around that (my marriage to my husband), and a second heart around that (My daughter). It’s like rings on a tree. I am waiting for warmer weather to get the final heart ring for my son.

TATTOO ME! I have 3 tattoos. One on each heel and one on my back. I love them all. My favorite is the last one I got. My husband and I both got the chinese symbol for love on our honeymoon. Mine is on my heel and his is on his chest, right above his heart. I think it’s important to get your ink where you can choose whether to show it or not. All of mine are in places where I can hide it or show it, depending on what I wear. Very important when working in the financial industry. Evidently, visible tats don’t inspire trust in clients. LOL!
