I have several tattoos and I like all of them except one! When I was 19 my stepmother took me to a tattoo party. I got 2 tattoos, one of a small dragon on the lower leg, The other…she talked me into (which is so dumb now looking back) getting a black widow tatto on my ear lobe. It has been 18 years and does not even resemble a black widow, it looks like a blob of ink. Consequently I have had many people ask me what it is, I always reply it was young and dumb!!

Tattoo me, please! I had the idea for my tattoo for over five years. I’d spend hours doodling the small heart design on the sides of my notes in university, but never built up the courage to have needle put to skin….even up to the point where I was on the tattooist’s table, then freaked out and changed my mind! But a few years later I figured it out. I finally got my tattoo, but in white ink. You can only see it certain lights, which I like, because I’m not much of an exhibitionist.

All of my tats have been temporary, but my favorite of those was this hideous faux-tattoo of some invasive beetle that we got from a booth at the state fair. It was just so random–we got three!
Real tattoos always make me think of that Saturday Night Live commercial for the lower back tattoo removal gel that melts your skin off.
