My husband and I have each others’ Zodiac sign. I have the Scorpio symbol with our wedding date under it. He has the Cancer sign on his right arm. When the signs “changed” last year we both thought we had made the biggest mistake by getting the tattoos and knew we’d never hear the end of it from our friends and family but luckily it didn’t matter in the end. My husband’s next tattoo is going to be our son’s footprints but he can’t decide where yet.

One day in college, I decided to get a tattoo. Being a noted musician (har har), I drew a set of eighth notes about the size of a silver dollar, and called up my friend and we drove to the tattoo shop. $35 bucks later, I had a tramp stamp. Riveting, isn’t it? Seven years later, I still like having it. Instead of going with black ink, I did it in a faded red to match a birth mark I have just below it on my back, so it feels like a part of me.

No joke – my hubby just got tattooed 2 days ago and I have just booked my appt. to get my first done! (An anchor with a bow around it because I am all about the sea and my name means “woman of the sea”. But, the tattoo timing isn’t the only uncanny thing here: our vacuum cleaner just stopped working! Okay, it works in the sense that it does suck up some stuff, but alas, it shoots it all back out from behind making an even bigger mess! We have dust bunnies almost as big as my Shih-Tzu/Maltese!!
