I’m a Industrial Designer, just like Herman Miller was, and there are a few things that let other designers know you’re no joke. You’re business card has to have the world Senior/Principle on them. You comfortable enough with your talent you don’t need to wear a black turtle neck and black emo glasses, and the third, you have a swanky designer chair from some of the early greats,like Emes and Miller.

MILLER ME! IMHO, you can’t live in Phoenix, AZ without getting on the Frank Lloyd Wright Organic Design train. After living here for 20+ years, his summer camp and design school, Taeliesen West, is always the 1st place I take the out of town visitors. Anyone who goes there immediately gets that design must respect and enhance its environment. Clean lines that emphasize the shapes of nature. Yay! YHL should do a field trip!

Never paid any attention to home design until this past year, when I started working at a home decor/paint store (The Rue, on Grove Ave in RVA), though I’ve always drooled over House Beautiful!! Now I’m getting an education about designers (classics & modern) by osmosis!
We have some great antique pieces in our shop, the ones that currently have my attention are two classic Herendon chairs with cane seats that we’ve sprayed in a gorgeous lime-y color. To. Die. For. !!!
