Random.org has surprised us this week and selected a male winner for the first time in foreverrrrrrr (shocking, we know). His name is… Thomas (and he’s looking forward to time off this holiday season). Congrats dude! (Congrats buddy? Congrats fella? I dunno, I’m so used to saying “Congrats ladies” I’m kinda at a loss).

One of our favorite things to give are custom house portraits (we’ve actually purchased two for my parents in the last year – and even bought one for ourselves). So as we enter the giving-est time of the year, we figured it would be fitting to give one of you the gift of a house portrait too. We recently discovered Rebekka Seale’s too-charming-for-words illustrations (Sherry’s ridiculously smitten), so wrangling her for a giveaway was at the top of our holiday to-do list. Happily, Rebekka was game. So she’s here to offer up a gift certificate for a custom house portrait along with the winner’s choice of any art print from her Etsy shop. Feel free to keep them for yourself, or wrap ’em up and put them under the tree for someone else. Note: Rebekka’s all full on house portrait orders until after Christmas, which is why she’s doling out a gift card for one, which can be redeemed after the holidays.

    A laptop or my sister. She has been working hard to save money for a laptop so we can skype (she lives in Mexico), and we got her one on black friday that she will love AND that will leave her some extra money to spend :)

    I am looking forward to giving away my skills as a photographer for Christmas. A lot of family and friends enjoy spending time and taking cherished photographs to pass out and I love to donate my time and editing skills… As long as I receive a photo card! :D

I am most looking forward to that first sip of coffee after I’ve settled in my chair, after we’ve video’ed the children coming downstairs, after we’ve registered their joy and (hopefully) surprise, and after I’ve burned the monkey bread – that first sip of coffee when I sit back and say ahhh and watch my beautiful family enjoy our bounty.

    Most excited about our joint gift to dad (my husband) who is so hard to buy for, but we have him good this year. At bedtime every night, we each say what our favorite thing of the day was. He has been so swamped with a new job, he has been getting home really late, and doesn’t have a lot of “fun” in his day; but he has gotten hooked on staying up late and playing “Mario Cart” on Wii. So we’ve put together a huge gift box of everything Mario: pj’s, tshirt, key chain, on and on, and my 8yo and I have had a great time doing it together. We even sprung for a new Wii game for him to maybe expand his horizons! We can’t wait to see the look on his face! We’re so excited!
