Fab Freebie: A Cultivated Kitchen

Sorry for the hit-and-miss quiz taking y’all. Apparently you guys enjoy a good quiz as much as we do! Anyways, the lucky (random) winner this week is… Kate Bateman (who was able to get a quiz result and said her “Traditional” diagnosis was almost spot on). Congrats!

I bet most of you guys spent a fair amount of time in the kitchen over the last few days, and if it had you yearning to make some changes in there, you’ve stumbled onto the right giveaway. The folks behind some of our favorite stores (West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Pottery Barn) have a sister site chock full of kitchen inspiration called Cultivate. In addition to photo galleries, expert advice, and a blog, they’ve also got one of our favorite ways to kill a few minutes: a Find Your Style quiz. Just pick your favorite between 10 pairs of photos and get ready for your diagnosis. And to help you put your kitchen prescription into action, they’re giving one of you a $200 gift card to use at Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm. Sweet. Update: We hear the quiz is still running very slowly/crashing. Looks like Cultivate wasn’t quite ready for all of you quiz-loving folks. So sorry about that, guys!

    Cultivate me! The site crashed on me, but I guarantee my style includes white cabinets. I’m in the middle of refacing my cabinet doors and have the white paint all over my hands to prove it!

    I took the quiz and my result was: Transitional {A harmonious blend of simple, modern lines with classic elements, this style often attracts people who love serene settings with a tailored dose of style” – so very true! :)

    Can’t take the quiz, but I’d wager I have a traditional/transitional style. My husband and I are closing on our first house soon; hopefully that will show in our kitchen as well!

    cultivate me! I was unable to take the quiz, but I can tel you from your post that I would have died and gone to heaven if I had that green kitchen at the bottom left! This is such a great opportunity- I would move in to West Elm if given the chance :)

    waiting for the site to “uncrash”, but my husband knows that i have been describing my kitchen style as: paint the cabinets white, add knobs, change backsplash, add pendant lights, etc, etc, etc.

    Sadness… I thought the quiz was working and then it got to the end and wouldn’t load my results! :( I’ll have to take it again later because I am so curious to see what they suggest for me!

    Cultivate me……contemporary. Which surprised me a little but apparently I didnt really know what contemporary really comprises. Once I read the description I agree it suits me completely. Then I got to thinking about my house and the description of “Fresh, stylish, and simple, softer than modern but still minimal and unfussy in parts. Clean lines and sleek details but need a strong grounding of warmth” describes exactly how my house looks. No frou frou, no fluff, but lots of warm tones and very straight lines.

    CULTIVATE ME!!

    Please! We are in the final stages of planning a minor kitchen remodel. All appliances are bought and waiting for us to choose counter tops and oh, the layout! Even if I don’t win this, I love that you steered me to ANOTHER website of pictures of kitchens. To say I’m slightly obsessed right now is an understatement.

    ps: did you ever consider black or dark countertops for your kitchen? I can’t seem to get my husband on board for a white on white kitchen. He loves dark shiny objects.:)

    Cultivate me! Not sure what category i fit into, but i love a mix of styles, colors, and textures. I love glossy whites with warm woodsies and clean stainless surfaces.
