Fab Freebie: A Cultivated Kitchen

Sorry for the hit-and-miss quiz taking y’all. Apparently you guys enjoy a good quiz as much as we do! Anyways, the lucky (random) winner this week is… Kate Bateman (who was able to get a quiz result and said her “Traditional” diagnosis was almost spot on). Congrats!

I bet most of you guys spent a fair amount of time in the kitchen over the last few days, and if it had you yearning to make some changes in there, you’ve stumbled onto the right giveaway. The folks behind some of our favorite stores (West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Pottery Barn) have a sister site chock full of kitchen inspiration called Cultivate. In addition to photo galleries, expert advice, and a blog, they’ve also got one of our favorite ways to kill a few minutes: a Find Your Style quiz. Just pick your favorite between 10 pairs of photos and get ready for your diagnosis. And to help you put your kitchen prescription into action, they’re giving one of you a $200 gift card to use at Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm. Sweet. Update: We hear the quiz is still running very slowly/crashing. Looks like Cultivate wasn’t quite ready for all of you quiz-loving folks. So sorry about that, guys!

    CULTIVATE ME! I couldn’t get the quiz to work but I am in love with white cabinetry, dark coutertops and very clean, simple decor for a kitchen!!!

    Cultivate Me! With my mouse on the refresh button.. I was able to complete the quiz! My style is traditional.

    What surprised me the most was the fact that I was consistently choosing images with white or off-white cabinets! I always told my hubby that I never wanted a white kitchen. Hmmmmm… perhaps I’ve been denying myself!

    The quiz said my style is transitional. I’d say that’s pretty accurate – what I love is the combination of natural wood with white and dark tones.

    CULTIVATE ME! I came up contemporary, though from past quiz experience I know I fall between traditional and contemporary. Gotta love a fun style quiz!

    Yup, got a chance to take the quiz, and they are totally right. I am Transitional, a term I didn’t even know until a few weeks ago, but it fits me to a tee!

    I keep trying, but can’t get past question 5 without a crash. : ( I’ll try again later.
    I am going to toss out a guess as to which style I am. Once I get through, we will see if I’m right!

    I’ll guess my kitchen style is Transitional. We will see if I’m right. : )

      I was wrong! After MUCH anticipation, my kitchen style is Contemporary like John! I wouldn’t have guessed that, but I can see it!

    Cultivate Me!

    I am transitional, which didn’t surprise me…Although I appreciate the look of a glossy white supermod kitchen, in reality I need something more forgiving.I grew up in a heavily forested area, so I need more wood to be comfortable!

    Cultivate me! The quiz crashed when I firsted tried it, but there must have been a brief parting of the clouds as I could then buzz right through the last 6 questions. I am not at all surprised at my result, though reading other comments here tells me I would have also been happy with Transitional.

    My kitchen style is: Modern
