Fab Freebie: A Cultivated Kitchen

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

Sorry for the hit-and-miss quiz taking y’all. Apparently you guys enjoy a good quiz as much as we do! Anyways, the lucky (random) winner this week is… Kate Bateman (who was able to get a quiz result and said her “Traditional” diagnosis was almost spot on). Congrats!

I bet most of you guys spent a fair amount of time in the kitchen over the last few days, and if it had you yearning to make some changes in there, you’ve stumbled onto the right giveaway. The folks behind some of our favorite stores (West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Pottery Barn) have a sister site chock full of kitchen inspiration called Cultivate. In addition to photo galleries, expert advice, and a blog, they’ve also got one of our favorite ways to kill a few minutes: a Find Your Style quiz. Just pick your favorite between 10 pairs of photos and get ready for your diagnosis. And to help you put your kitchen prescription into action, they’re giving one of you a $200 gift card to use at Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm. Sweet. Update: We hear the quiz is still running very slowly/crashing. Looks like Cultivate wasn’t quite ready for all of you quiz-loving folks. So sorry about that, guys!

Cultivate Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, or Pottery Barn courtesy of Cultivate
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CULTIVATE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …if you were lucky enough to get through and take the quiz without it crashing, what was your result? Was it accurate? Somewhere in the middle? Did it surprise you? I was shocked that my result (Contemporary) suggested a non-white kitchen. And if you can’t get through, we’re so sorry it’s running slowly/crashing!
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I got transitional, spot on. We just bought a new house 3 weeks ago. So far the heat has broken twice, the toilets both broke, the wiring shorted, the garage door snapped, and the oven broke. Needless to say I’m putting my name in this hat. Cultivate me!

My style was transitional, which fit with me as well as the house we’re renovating now. we’re trying to make the most of it’s classic features, with also bringing in some modern elements.
    thanks for the entry!

CULTIVATE ME! My style result was “transitional” and I think it is perfect. I love the contemporary look but I love the incorporation of history. I love little stories about things in a room, or a house. The personal details of a lovely, inanimate object/house make it real and more like home.

CULTIVATE ME!!! My results are transitional. It was a little surprising to me at first just because I didn’t know what transitional really was, but after I read the description I felt like it described my style perfectly: “more daring than traditional design but still love a good nod to the past.”

“Transitional.” The description sounded good. Something about more daring than traditional but with a nod to the past. I like that. I like mid century modern furniture with a bit of traditional, maybe some hollywood regency, and a bit o’ rustic.

According to the quiz, I’m ‘transitional’. I’d say that’s pretty accurate. We always joke that my boyfriend’s style is ‘Early American Bachelor Mountain Man’ – too bad that’s not a Cultivate style option (it involves lots of leather, plaid, and uncomfortable furniture inherited from relatives)!

The quiz said I was Electric. Creative, imaginative, and unexpected, this style is for design aficionados who have a personality and aren’t afraid to show it!

This is definitely my personality but I haven’t seen it transition into my home much. But then again I’m still renting so yeah.

Cultivate Me! I learned my style was modern, which surprised me. I came from a home where we had a very country style kitchen, so maybe I’m subconsciously rebelling against that design.

… though, to be honest, I like my little nic-nacs but am not one for intense clutter. I can deal with a Modern kitchen, especially waking up to any of those beautiful kitchens pictured. Dream come true. Love your blog!
