Don’t you just love a good before and after? Here’s an ever-evolving gallery of room makeovers based on decorating advice that we’ve doled out in person and even virtually thanks to our custom mood board service. From inexpensive apartment sprucing to total room renovations, there’s no project too big and no budget too small. So peruse the pretty (and not so pretty) pictures below. And if you’re in the market for some decorating advice, call on us for a custom consultation of your very own.

First there was Kim, who was looking to transform her smurf-blue kitchen cabinets into a classic and elegant kitchen. Here’s the crazy-bold before:

Those blue cabinets were definitely a doozie, so we brainstormed a foolproof color palette which resulted in a seriously dramatic after:

Then there was Blayne, who came to us to add a hint of Moroccan flair to her mixed & matched bedroom for a more cohesive and inviting atmosphere. Here’s the split personality before:

We recommended a darker accent wall behind the bed, some new Moroccan-inspired bedding, chocolate curtains, a wall of art, matching table lamps and even a custom monogram for above the bed. Here’s her subtly exotic after:

Stacie ordered a custom mood board to lighten up in her dark bedroom. Here are the before shots:

We whipped up an open and airy mood board, and this was the dramatic after. Doesn’t it look like a whole new room?

Janis came to us for help updating her family room, so we created a mood board full of soothing tones and fresh & fabulous furnishings. Here’s her space before the transformation:

Here’s the very same room after a cheerful coat of teal paint and some oh-so-current furnishings and accessories:

Next we have Abbey’s family room transformation, which is a great reminder that you don’t have to replace every last piece of furniture to create a whole new look. Here’s the space before our crisp and current mood board makeover:

And here’s the same space after we suggested a deeper wheaty-gold color on the walls and brought in lots of clean and modern accessories to tie everything together and really complement the bright red sofa which stayed in the space.

Ania’s dining area was completely unfinished and heavy looking with a chunky dark table and paper on the windows. So we whipped up this mood board to completely transform it from this basic before

… to this brilliant after full of light and breezy style. Thanks to the dramatic capiz chandelier, a round white pedestal table, industrial chic chairs and gauzy patterned curtains it’s an amazing place to enjoy a cup of coffee or share a meal.

Yet another fan favorite was when we transformed Carrie’s sunroom-turned-bedroom in about four hours for under $200. Here it is before we spruced things up:

In just a few hours we made a headboard out of cheap Ikea tables, hung curtains where we could, brought in some warm pendant lights to flank the bed, and even used grasscloth on those sliding glass doors to give Carrie some much needed privacy. Here’s the super affordable after:

Blayne came back to us for another mood board makeover, and this time her living room was the focus. Here’s the heavy and crowded before:

And here’s the lighter and brighter after, thanks to a new furniture arrangement, a fireplace accent wall, and some breezy accessories that create a serene and beachy feel:

Next we have Lee’s homework and mail station makeover (she needed tons of function without sacrificing form). Here’s the hodge-podge-ish before:

And here’s the multifunctional and eye-pleasing after (thanks to a few affordable Ikea bookcases, a simple pendant light and a round jute rug). Plus all the major components of this makeover came in under $450- not bad for an entire room overhaul that was done pretty much from scratch.

Here’s a fun makeover that we pulled off in eight year old Olivia’s room for under $200. Here’s the pretty bare before:

When Eve called on us for a dining room makeover on a tiny budget, we suggested painting the fireplace, the table and the walls along with bringing in a few accessories to totally transform her space. Here’s the before shot:

Here’s Eve’s gorgeous new dining room thanks to just $157 worth of paint and accessories. This makeover proves that high style doesn’t have to come with a high price tag. The finishing touch will be refinishing the table to match the mocha chair legs for an even more polished effect:

Amy came to us for a mood board makeover and we jumped at the chance to totally transform her living room. Here’s the busy before picture:

Here’s the same space after adding some warm paint to the walls (including the brick one), hanging golden curtains to soften things up, bringing in new accessories and even reusing items Amy already had (like painting her existing fan and adding a coffee table from another room):

——————————————————————————————–

Then there was John’s sister Emily, who came to us to turn a bare guest bedroom into a modern nursery for her baby boy on the way. Here’s the almost completely empty before:

We whipped up all sorts of affordable DIY projects (modern vertical stripes, hand painted art above the crib, a custom crib skirt, a homemade lamp shade, and fold-away hooks on the wall under some expansive mirrors for function and charm). Here’s Emily’s nursery after we spent just $358 for everything in the entire room (from the furniture to every last accessory):

We helped Manisha achieve some pretty dramatic results in her family room, taking her mantel from drab to fab. But first the before shot:

And here’s the vibrant and fun after thanks to a few totally inexpensive and easy additions (everything from the paint and the shower curtain to the accessories and even the chandelier was just $82 total!):

Then there was Christine, who ordered up an eclectic Domino-inspired transformation on a dime. Here’s her family room before:
