Fab Freebie: Get It Done
***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***
Random.org has done it’s random duty and selected our #ReadyDoneClean winner as… Stephanie B (who hates the clean up part of painting – especially “getting the paint of my hands!”) Congrats!
If you despise the prep or clean-up parts of a painting project, this week’s giveaway is right up your alley. Procter & Gamble and The Home Depot are teaming up to help you “Get it ready. Get it done. Get it clean.” Because in addition to the $200 Home Depot gift card this week’s winner will score, they’re also throwing in a Swiffer Sweeper and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser #ReadyDoneClean Prize Kit too. That way you’ll be covered for tasks like Swiffer-ing dust off your walls and baseboards before you paint, purchasing your paint & supplies at Home Depot, and even getting a little stray paint off the baseboards later with your Magic Eraser. So feel free to start figuring out which room could use a fresh new look…
- PRIZE: A $200 Home Depot gift card, a Swiffer Sweeper 2 in 1 Sweeping and Mopping Starter Kit, and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Select-A-Size
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GET IT DONE” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …what part of a painting project do you dread most? Do you hate getting the paint off your hands afterwards? Could you do without having to cut in around baseboards? Or maybe it’s the act of picking out a color that strikes the most fear in you?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 20th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

GET IT DONE! I hate the smell and washing the paint off the brushes at the end.
get it done! picking out the color is always the trickiest part! i can easily go overboard buying too many samples.
Get it done!
I hate the prep part of painting….I just wanna get in there and GET IT DONE!!! I thought hiring it out would make it better…but all I am doing now is waiting on someone else to get it done…Just had my loft/craft/sewing area painted a tiffany blue color…can’t wait to add accents to the room!
GET IT DONE! The worst part of painting for me is realizing you should have primed first…especially the baseboards!
GET IT DONE! I don’t like having to move and cover the furniture and floors.
GET IT DONE!
The part I hate the most is taping the walls off- and I know I have to do it because if I didn’t I would have paint everywhere! It takes me such a long time to do when all I want to do is paint! :)
Get it done!
The prep work
GET IT DONE!
I don’t like taping everything off. I think that is my least favorite part.
Get it done!
I really hate the whole process, but cleaning up the most!
GET IT DONE!
Sanding!
Taping is a close second.
“GET IT DONE!”
I find prepping the walls by filling all those nail holes especially difficult and annoying.
GET IT DONE
Picking out a color! Usually takes me at least a month.
Get it done! I dread the wall prep, especially since we’re sheet rocking everything from scratch.
GET IT DONE! I think the fears associated with painting depend on the size of the room. Our last 2 projects: 600 sq ft room vs 40 ft room. Very different. Anyways – picking out the paint color is by far the hardest part! (says the prego who just let her husband paint the 40 ft room by himself) :)
GET IT DONE!
I absolutely hate prepping for painting. I shutter even looking at blue tape!
Get it done!
Not a fan of the prep work – taping, moving furniture, etc. I actually really like painting, especially cutting in!
Get it done! Cleaning brushes is no fun!
GET IT DONE!!!
I truly hate prepping the area before all the painting.
GET IT DONE I hate taping off everything before you start to paint
Get it Done
I love the finished product… but hate the clean-up to get started!
Get It Done!!
I hate the preparation, taping everything off is so annoying!
GET IT DONE!
By far my least fav is picking the color. I’m terrible at it! I’ll put testers all over and still not like my end results. :(
GET IT DONE!
I hate cutting in at the ceiling. I am a klutz an usually end up with a jagged line. But that’s what crown molding is for, right?!
Get it done.
I hate picking out the color. Second guessing if my decision is right. Worrying it will look different once its painted on. Worrying it won’t match what else is in the room. So stressful.
GET IT DONE
I hate cleaning up! And, since you mentioned it, getting the paint of my hands!
Get it done!
Get it done! My least favorite part of painting is definitely trying to pick the right color. I’m always terrified that the color will be totally wrong and end up looking terrible once I actually get it up on the walls.
Get It Done!!
I hate the preparation, especially taping everything off!
GET IT DONE
I loathe cutting edges but love pulling the tape off and seeing how great it looks.
GET IT DONE! Definitely the prep work… the cleaning, sanding, removal of face plates, nails etc. The prep is the bummer part of paiting!
GET IT DONE!
I dislike the prep work, especially taping! But also because I’m such an indecisive person , picking out a color makes me sweat!!!
GET IT DONE! I tape as I don’t have a steady hand – and thats my least favorite. Once taped, it seems to go super fast.
GET IT DONE!
Taping. I haaaaaate it. In fact, I’ve stopped doing it. I got an edger instead, and now my painting life is much happier.
GET IT DONE! I hate the prepping, emptying the room, fixing wall holes, taping, etc….but I REALLY need to paint my master bath (it’s gross) and so this would help a lot :)
GET IT DONE!!!!! I always dread the cutting in around trim. My mom recently remodeled their house and they did all the painting themselves. She became quite a pro at cutting in. So next room I paint she will be helping me with the tons of windows and trim I have in that room! Hope I win at least one thing from you all one day. Monica
GET IT DONE! I have no patience for cutting in the edges – I will roll the walls until we run out of paint but refuse to do the edges – that’s what my husband is for, he’s the details man. And the cleanup man :)
GET IT DONE!
Cleaning the paintbrushes! Hubby is usually forced to do it. :)
GET IT DONE!
The worst part of painting is cleaning the brushes and rollers at the end.
Get it done! I don’t like the prep or the clean up. Taking the room apart and putting it back together is a pain to me.
“GET IT DONE”
The worst is absolutely the clean-up…it’s the pits! Which is what makes me procrastinate the most until I have a full day to spend painting so that I don’t have to do the clean-up process more than once!
Get It Done!
The worst part is the prep work, taping off, etc.
GET IT DONE!
I hate painting ceilings…I absolutely DREAD it…also I usually get paint in my hair somehow and it stays there for weeks.
GET IT DONE! Painting along tape is my least favorite part.
Get it done! I love the cutting, hate the cleaning. It always seems to take forever to clean the brushes.
GET IT Done! I hate cleaning brushes and rollers! PS: I made my own curtains this weekend the Sherry way with Hem Bond. They are an IKAT pattern. I will send a pic when I am finishing hembonding the last two panels! So proud!
GET IT DONE!!
Definitely the taping. Or maybe cleaning the brushes. Or maybe the cutting in. Or maybe I will just watch the boyfriend tape, clean and cut in…Ha!
GET IT DONE! I HATE painting ceilings!
GET IT DONE!! I really dread the prep work. I just want to get right to painting, but the most difficult part for me is to get through the process of clearing the room of furniture and other personal items, putting up painters tape, laying down drop cloth, cleaning, patching and sanding walls, etc. I just want to start painting!
GET IT DONE!
Which is exactly how I feel about taping before painting. My hand is not quite steady enough to go without taping, but I swear it takes more time to tape everything off than it does to cut in and roll the wall.
GET IT DONE! And I despise cutting in around baseboards, trims, etc. I’m terrible at it and totally jealous of Sherri’s steady hand!
