Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

Love pens… carry around a pen and small notebook everywhere to jot down notes when thoughts arise or inspiration strikes at home or work (mainly because I forget everything if I don’t write it down immediately!).
Monica says
PILOT ME!! I am a paper list maker. I love pens especially fine point blue or other colored ink.

I love the Pilot Frixion pens! I use them allllll the time, because normally if I make a mistake on my grocery list, I’d have to start from scratch. Perfection is a beast sometimes!
Jenny says
Pilot me! I keep little notepads in various areas of the house, including my purse, but I often have a hard time finding a good pen. I love my to-do lists!

PILOT ME! I try to only use digital… but sometimes (most times) I end up going back to pen and paper because I feel more productive like that, my favorites are sharpie or gel pens.

I have an obsession with pens! I always keep a good quality roller ball in my purse and love fun colors. Same goes for taking notes at work in the journal next to my phone. There’s just something about writing with a great pen that makes boring tasks more interesting.

I’ve always been a doodler and a note taker. I’ve filled up countless notepads at work and end up using the backs of pages! The craziest is my monthly planner.. I’m surprised I can keep myself organized with all the scribbles.

Pilot me! I am a list maker and have post its and journals all over my house/car/office. My go-to is a good fountain pen. Love the blog!

Or should I say “Write me up”?
I too am particular about my pen apparati so I totally get what you’re saying. I admit it, I’ve been known to spin my head spewing expletives if I notice someone took a favorite pen from my desk….well maybe not the head spinning part but pretty close. This could be my secret stash!

I love a smooth purple ink pen. I like the fact that when I fill out paperwork (that isn’t really professional) or writing in my planner that the ink stands out from typical black or blue ink. ????
Lisa-Marie says
PILOT ME! Sticky notes and a sharpie marker!
Meredith @ La Buena Vida says
Pilot me!!
I’m the type of person who learns and remembers by writing, so I HAVE to write things down in order to remember them. The trick is just writing them on something that I’ll actually be able to FIND later on ;)
Love Pilot pens–such a cool giveaway!
Lauren says
PILOT ME!
I take notes on whatever is closest at hand. Receipts, scrap papers, back of bags. I don’t discriminate, but I love any excuse to try and be more organized.

PILOT ME! Sharpies have always beem my weapon of choice! :)

PILOT ME!!
Although I tend to take notes on my iPhone since it’s convenient, I’ll always love making lists with a real pen and paper! There’s just something more satisfying about writing things out by hand!

Pilot me! I’m definitely a pen and paper kinda gal who makes a lot of lists! Digital organization doesn’t work that well for me.

PILOT ME!
I am a compulsive note-writer and list-maker. I use paper (post-it notes and journals) and digital (in the form of emails to myself, iPhone notes, and Google tasks). It’s pretty crazy, actually, how sporadic my notes are but yet so organized…
Betsy says
PILOT ME!!
Um, YES I’m particular with both my pens AND pencils. Who isn’t?? I’m a bit of a mechanical pencil snob, preferring those ones that look like a real pencil (yellow body, pink eraser….sigh) but really aren’t.
As far as pens, I’m an 80’s girl so nothing makes my heart go pitter-patter more than a BIC 4 color switcher pen….y’know, you can change the pen color but still have the same pen? Brillant for checking things off the “To Do List.” That clicking is sweet music to my ears! They are tough to find but they are out there!
Sonia says
PILOT ME!
I always have a clickable ball-point pen in my purse and mini-notepad. As a backup, I also carry a regular No. 2 pencil (of course) and a pocket knife (dual-purpose) for sharpening if all else fails. :-)
Erin says
PILOT ME! I am a pen ‘n paper kind of gal. In fact, I weirdly despise writing with pencils – I don’t like how it smears or gets on the side of my hand. Weird, I know.
AviLynn says
I use pink or purple in my awesome Erin Condren planner. I tried to go digital but I just have to write stuff down.
Meghan says
PILOT ME! I like taking down notes with a pink pen, at work. Gotta keep things interesting. And I use my iPhone to take down notes when I’m making packing lists at home or grocery lists, etc. I have a notepad that doubles as a mousepad that’s pretty sweet with some colored ball point Pilot pens! Thanks for the entry!
Lia Moss says
PILOT ME!!!
I like different colored pens to keep everything color coded :)
Sara L says
PILOT ME!!!!!
I keep my favortie pen (which changes frequently) and a small flip top notebook in my purse to jot things down whenever I need to.
Kelly H says
PILOT ME! I am a list maker for sure, and am now enjoying making them on my iPhone I got for Christmas!
Ryan K says
Pilot me! My go to method for note taking when an idea or a to do list item comes to mind is a pen I have tied onto the fridge with a length of ribbon and a variety of magnet-backed note pads stuck to the front. Works amazingly well! Not only is it easily accessible to use but then my notes are right there so I can’t miss them all day.
Mags says
Pilot me! I tap notes into my phone, but I also carry a ball point pen and my small Moleskine with me, too. Nothing beats scribbling on the page.
Erin says
PILOT ME!
My husband and I are always prepared with pen – his weapon of choice is a smooth-writing black pen in his pocket, while mine is a four-color pen in my purse (perfect for color coding events and to-do’s in my paper planner!)
(I hope I didn’t double comment – I was having trouble loading the web site yesterday while I commented :(

Sarah says
Pilot me! I use post-it notes, I have them stuck all over my desk, probably not the best for organization.
Michelle says
PILOT ME! I have a small obsession for writing utensils! I love ultra fine point pens for most things and am pretty much a standard black ink girl. I also have great difficulty hanging on to my writing tools, I lose them like crazy, so a gift card to replenish my stash would be awesome!!!!
Danielle G says
PILOT ME!–I love writing in new notebooks with a nice new pen. I especially like the black and blue gel pens. They always seem to write nicer
nina murnighan says
Pilot Me!! I love writing anything and everything, especially lists ; ) And my favorite thing to write with is a BLUE pen. It has to be blue .
Stacey Cucuzza says
PILOT ME! I have been carrying around a small planner/calendar for sooo many years now. I love being able to physically cross something off a list or just write a quick note on a specific date and then have that to look back on years later.
